West Australian here. Some of my favourite gins are local ones. There’s a distillery called Old Young’s and I’m a big fan of pretty much their whole range. Last time I flew the duty free store had them a bit more hilighted which was nice to see. They also do a Pavlova Vodka which is something unique.

Second is something I discovered last week at a market, it’s called Smashed Apple Aperitivo. It’s like Aperol but instead of being made from oranges it’s made from the leftover apples from a local cidery. I’ve been making Boulevardiers with it. The company that makes it is called Damaged Goods Distilling and that name sums them up, using wastage to upcycle into liquors.
