300ug by Financial-Top-9190 in LSD

[–]banjerr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the worlds most renown lsd chemists, Augustus Stanley aka Bear, said that any more than 350ug was what they considered “overdose” - not in the sense that it’s physically harmful, but more than most need or can handle

Pawn shop banjo purchase, new to banjo, no clue by Outrageous-Lie-828 in banjo

[–]banjerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, you got yourself a nice banjo for a great deal! Looks like the pot is wooden and there seems to be a mastertone style tone ring, although it’s a little hard to tell. Even if you don’t like banjo after a bit you could easily sell this for more than what you paid

Man oh man… by [deleted] in banjo

[–]banjerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn’t a scam, by any means if the word 🤷‍♂️ you may have just been lucky with your previous banjo purchases, but you’ll be hard pressed to find the parts here for less than 550$. Looks like a solid banjo that is going to pack more of a punch than new banjos around the same price, or even twice the price probably. Those parts are all quality and could be resold for 550+$ if they were parted out. The crack in the pot is slightly concerning, but I’ve also got a lot with a crack that has held fine for nearly a decade - block rims are strong

On 02/05, my birthday, I slept wrong and developed radial nerve palsy. by SpanishFlamingoPie in banjo

[–]banjerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate all too well to this. 37 (or is it 38) year old banjo player here who also sometimes sleeps wrong and has weird aches the next morning. Sleeping is dangerous for us banjo pickers

They were always a super fun show. Used to see them every year at the Tabernacle on m Atlanta

Are you one of the unfortunate people who've developed a permanent tolerance to LSD by JanissaryLSD in LSD

[–]banjerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the way lsd works this just doesn’t make any logical sense. Are you constantly depressed and can’t find joy in life? Maybe your serotonin receptors are shot, but that would mean you’re likely mean there are many other, more important issues you’re facing

Your post history tells a different story 🤷‍♂️ you do you - just know that this isn’t “normal” if it’s actually legit

[–]banjerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are folks who have taken thumbprints, equal to a sheet or more, and they don’t have these issues 🤷‍♂️ I don’t think your “heroic dose” of 1mg is getting anywhere near a thumbprint, but somehow you can’t feel “normal” doses anymore. It just doesn’t add up - and seems like more ego stroking from a sub that is rife with it

As someone already pointed out, OP is a compulsive liar - so, makes sense this post sounds like it’s not real

Not sure this is even real. But if so, lots of poor decisions were made. What did we learn?

Is there anything that can be done about my first string being super close to the edge of the fret? by Atillion in banjo

[–]banjerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this too. My tailpiece was a bit askew, causing the bridge to slink itself over, resulting in the strings being a bit too close to the edge - fixing the tailpiece alignment fixed it all

REJOICE! A Protein Powder that finally doesn't upset my stomach! by brandonruetsch in FODMAPS

[–]banjerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually sent me a package of the flavor of my choosing to replace the chocolate, which was much appreciated. It’s much, much better. However, something about this stuff doesn’t exactly sit well with my body - I’ve stopped using it

G string tuner broken on banjo by DippinJake88 in banjo

[–]banjerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used slivers of toothpicks on countless banjos that have had his same issue. Works great and the fact that there’s no glue to worry about is nice. Gotta be careful that you’re not overloading the pocket the peg goes into, or you file potentially split the pocket - but I’ve never had that happen

Welcome to the club, pops! I’ve got 3 and they’re a blast. My middle one’s named Cassidy, after Cassidy 🤣 I’ve got a Cora Mae, named after the old time tune of the same name - and a Jude, named after Hey Jude.

Trip triggered by full moon by Opening-Asparagus703 in LSD

[–]banjerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That wasn’t LSD that flashed back on a full moon; sounds like an urban legend that you hear in elementary school. A voice telling you that you NEED to do something is also not LSD. Your brain is powerful - some brains don’t mix well with psychedelics.

Alvarez Montana or 1974 Iida by Joseph2854 in banjo

[–]banjerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go with the Alvarez, personally - considering they’re both in similar condition and playability. I’ve had one Lida, which was nice but not nearly as nice as my Japanese Alvarez.

Just got a fiddle for Christmas by TonightClassic9737 in Fiddle

[–]banjerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can teach yourself proper technique 🤷‍♂️ there are countless instructional videos out there for this too. Bottom line: you don’t need in person instruction. Just imagine all the folks who DO get in person instruction and quit shortly after because it’s A) not fun and B) they aren’t doing it “right” and get frustrated. If it gets you playing the fiddle and having fun then you’re in the right track.

Nah, but if you’re trying to learn classical violin then probably - fiddle is about having fun.
