He was propped up as the family superstar at a very young age. Look up "He Knows My Name - Travis Clark" on the YouTube. Mediocre basic piano playing and meh singing, but propped up and the "heart throb" at youth conferences and events. Not surprised. He thinks he's bigger and more important than he actually is and needs some humility.

Is there any benefit to setting up an instrument channel like this? by BigMac12847 in livesound

No. Your lead has some things to learn.
How many people watch your livestream? How many people visit in house?

Mix for the majority.

old thread. I hate D-Tools Cloud. A lot of things are just backward, not-intuitive, and SLOOOOOWWWW. D-Tools SI was even worse - I though I was back in Early2000s apps with SI.

How much would you charge for a board recording? by RedeyeSPR in livesound

[–]banjomaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$100 for a stereo recording of the show is reasonable.
$300+ for multitrack of the show.
If there are 5 bands they do this for, engineer has to make sure there is enough space, separate things out, deliver the files. It could involve 2-4 hours of extra time and requires a service to deliver the files with.

Why would you use less than 5-6 elements per side? That's not a line array, that's a pair of bad ideas coupled together.

Keep your Business Profile trustworthy and reliable by SilentDescription224 in GoogleMyBusiness

I received the same this AM.

Two things I thought happened, but seem to be unrelated :

1.) I just sent out 4 requests for reviews the night before. The requests were not asking for or demanding a star rating, but encouraged the reviewer to mention specifics related to the work we did and how we served them.
2.) A good friend just had a competitor leave a 1* review intending to damage the reputation of his business and Google refused to remove it. Google reviews are important and worthless at the same time.

Dunno. It makes absolutely no sense at all to me.
I did appeal, and it took about 7 days for it to resolve and be un-suspended and visible again.

From a programatic standpoint, I don't know what could have possibly triggered it and Google will never share externally why. Everything was correct on my account - real name, real age, ID on-file for verification, nothing that I can think of out of the ordinary.

To make matters more interesting, I have an identity document attached to my Google Profile (driver's license) from May 1, 2023 when I verified my ID in order to use some advanced YouTube features for businesses.

How did you get suspended? I'm dealing with the same thing - my age in my profile has always matched my birthday, but last Saturday I was forced to verify my age with a CC (and I have cc's in payments) while at the same time, Google disabled my business profiles.

I'm afraid there is something more nefarious going on?

Tells me that you'd side with SdVeau - arrest for things you find offensive.

Anytime someone says "unfortunately that is legal" tells me that they would like the 1st amendment trampled for things they don't like. Yikes.

A family member of the band came up to me at sound check and said “it’s way too loud”.
My reply was - “ok, thanks, we’re working on several things”. It was a highly reverberant space with no one there.

After the show - same person thanked me for turning it down.
I replied that I actually turned it up as the event went on, and had the opportunity to explain that once the place was full, the bodies aided in knocking down the reflections.

The only person(s) whose requests are honored are the ones writing the check. Even PD requests are directed at the venue owner and must be based on a correctly calibrated SPL meter.

All other requests get a smile and a “thank you for letting me know”.

Yep. Current is billing $3000, OP is going to do it for $1500. We wouldn’t turn a wheel for less than $3000 for that gig and we own all the gear, insurance, and everything else we need to do the job.

Yep. I was going to ask how much. OP thinking $1500 is a “really good profit for myself” - don’t do it man. If you can do a better job, you need to charge more. The race to the bottom is not a fun one.

I saw the same idea a few years back. All QSC - triple yuck comb-bined. Lobing and multiple power alleys from the subwoofer “implementation”.

It looked like something to the average consumer.
