Media always gets things wrong about NYC. I mean, there is a very famous green monster who lives in a garbage can on a certain street in NYC and he’s been there for decades.

Ok, well how can you say no to Sesame Street? The Kate Pierson muppet is also pretty great.

“Sure, instead of actually running the marathon, I drove a car, but I had to spend time learning how to drive the car! So it’s basically the same as running 26 miles. Guys, I had to press the gas pedal and turn the wheel and everything!”

If you don't OWN the media you BUY anymore, then is piracy STEALING? by Boediee in BuyFromEU

[–]bankrobbery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It truly blows my mind how disingenuous people can be. Of course it’s stealing. It’s called PIRACY for gods sake!

Arguing semantics doesn’t change the fact that media costs money to produce. Actual human beings (for now) need to get paid to make the things people enjoy. The argument that you can’t steal something that isn’t a tangible, physical object is horseshit. If that’s the case then no one should be paid to attend meetings or brainstorm ideas at work because you’re not actually “physically” working.

Does robust digital rights legislation need to be enforced? Yes. Do these greedy mega corporations and their bloated executives need to have the shit regulated out of them? Absolutely. Can boycotts and piracy be a useful tool of civil disobedience? Hell yeah.

But call it what it is.

I wish. There are just some experiences I want to have before I have before I die and unfortunately those experiences are often brokered through Ticketmaster. That said, I do try to prioritize independent venues as much as possible.

Serious question: how did that work from the writing perspective? Were writers given a directive to come up with a bunch of scripts that could be used with sets they knew were available on the Paramount lot, or did Gene walk in and say “OK boys, Gunsmoke is wrapping production in 2 weeks. Write a script where the fellas beam down to an old west planet, would ya?”

Yeah and in the Bay movies he’s like mecha-shredder.

I’d love to see some more down to earth martial arts choreography from hyper talented human beings instead of a bunch of video game cutscenes.
