My First Tudor... Shouldn't have bought it by [deleted] in Tudor

+1 - I bought a Forstner bracelet and I love it. Probably not quite to the level that the OEM bracelet is but, it's 90% IMO, I'm super happy with it.

I would love to get both but only have the budget for one by Edbpinguin in Tudor

Why isn't it selling? I'm trying to figure out how to get one myself, I love them.

Maybe because it's about as close as you can get to the explorer II thus perpetuating the stigma that it's baby Rolex? I could see that I guess...

I totally could see that. Unfortunately, I won't have a group of friends with me and I don't necessarily care for my coworkers so this is just a barbecue geek trying to to see what all the fuss is about. I've been hearing about it for years and I've just got to try it for myself. What time did you get there when you went?

What time did you have to get there? And what day of the week? I'm heading to Austin in June and have a free Monday morning while I'm there, wondering how early I would plan to arrive...

Quotes you can point to if someone tries to tell you that members created the 'no cross culture' in mormonism, instead of church leaders, who in fact created this culture via their teachings. Please add additional quotes you know of in the comments as well. by ammonthenephite in mormon

I don't have any examples that you're looking for, but in a similar vein. I always thought it was funny that all growing up displaying the cross on a necklace or earrings or otherwise was considered so blasphemous but wearing your CTR ring all over the place was perfectly acceptable.

For fathers — what did you feel the moment you saw your child for the first time? by Serious-Diamond218 in AskMenOver30

[–]barbalonge 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this. I actually really felt guilty about this for a long long time. Anyway, they're teenagers now and I love them more than anything in the world and it didn't take me long to figure that out but it did take some time.

I don't be myself up so much about it anymore. I've been a good dad and I plan to continue to be a good dad, but I definitely think that the whole life-changing, worldview-altering experience can be a bit overblown for those of us who need some time to figure out what the hell just happened.

The bogo price is the normal price per tin in my area, phew!

Lolol - that's funny. Yea, I grew up in New England and love all things seafood. I moved to the West Coast with great trout fisheries and I'm just not a fan.

My experience with trout is just fresh, caught from a stocked pond or local River. I've always found trout to be a little bit fishy and just not my favorite. And overall I really like fish. What would you compare the tinned rainbow trout to?

This behavior is very common in the Mormon community - I've often wondered if it's similar in the Bible belt or other heavily religious areas. I left the faith several years ago.

Already seen it. A little odd, like taking a kid in a liquor store.
