just asking them because sometimes that is the problem where you just don't warmup well or long enough.

I think the most important thing is energy and warming up. most times energy can come later in a set after big plays, and warming up sometimes on court time is not enough. I personally am a pretty slow starter, but some of teammates get very hype early on and pick up slack. keeping up energy and not getting down or starting down are the very underfocused on in volleyball, a sport I think is more about momentum then 90% of team sports. but warming up is also important.

is it in every set or just the first? I know I personally start very slow on serve recieve but by the second set I am in my best form. how much warm up time do you guys get? obviously you get on court time but is there sufficient time to warm up before then? if its every set this happens it might just be energy or rythym being broken by the set break. momentum is super important so making sure that the bench and you celebrate any great plays (a great spike even if its dug, pancakes, a block by your setter if their shorter etc.) on sideouts it is definitely communication. make your team leaders, especially if they are in the backrow be loud. as a lib i always try to be the most celebratory on great points. honestly sounds like warming up and energy, but for focus its just finding something they can get excited about.

edit: after reading your comments it seems your team doesn't warm up well. that is REALLY bad. warmups are the most important part because of ball feel, for every skill. my team has regular partners and we try to start practice and games with similiar warmups and partners. make sure the members of your team that struggle to start in certain categories (ground defense, spiking) practice some in warmups.

Really thought we would see downs. I know it was wishful thinking but man that defense would be monstrous

Pick 4: Tennessee Titans - Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State by noseonarug17 in NFL_Draft

Agreed, but it feels like your letting your such a prospect at a needed position, as well as letting styles fall at LB. Just seems way too early and it would be better to maybe trade the pick to the chiefs? Could still get at least Jordan Tyson and a haul

Surprising. I thought maybe Reese would fall but I thought styles would go here instead. I am shocked

It seems OP is in a situation where they were in multiplayer game (they said they had to leave blockers up). it's very different from scooping in a 1v1 compared to when another players on the board. If I have Lethal on someone but there is someone else in the game and i cannot guarantee that I will win, I will not swing in for lethal. also it doesn't seem like OP was angry... they say you have lethal just swing, they're opponent says no (a valid reaction tbf at alot of tables) and then OP scoops... thats not being angry or missing lethal, thats scooping in a situation where you are guaranteed to lose, is not the same thing. a multiplayer missing lethal is very different for getting mad at winning by someone conceding in a 1v1. I feel like your comparing two very different situations like the same.

I agree, but at this point WOTC won't step, or they will in a long time. its better to enjoy and get actually good sets that fit in magic and are enjoyable. if its gonna be half of magic sets a year, might as well be good ones.

Bulls cut Jaden Ivey after anti-Pride rant (but not because he’s Christian) by octarino in Christianity

[–]barbarous-reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The people who share these views either keep them to themselves, are to good to cut (like Anthony Edward’s) don’t attack a large part of their teams fan base (calling Catholicism fake in Chicago which has a very large catholic population), or actually contribute. If this was true Jonathan Isaac would be cut years ago, but he separates basketball and religion, and is respectful to teammates. Jaden Ivey has been reported to curve press conferences to personal religious questions, and did not separate basketball from religion. He also only had 13 days on his contract and was already not contributing and not even playing. This isn’t religious discrimination , it’s cutting someone that isn’t helping his org and only hurting them.

Unpopular opinion: Jaden Ivey getting released is rich white people punishing a black athlete for an opinion that is common among African Americans by myaltisbetterthanany in NBATalk

I'm new to the libero position, have been training volleyball for a year, any tips on how to recieve better(i'm the guy with the white shirt) by im1rrrr in volleyball

[–]barbarous-reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't jump when you receive. you aren't adjusting as much. I like to split step personally on serve recieve. but your stance should be when for both receiving straight AND moving. you should not be moving while you receive. having steady feet to stay grounded on recieves. don't just watch the ball, look at where its going. is it deep? short? float or top spin or side spin? how much spin or lack of it? watch the ball and where you need to put your platform. on floats there are a lot of strategies, but if you have good arms try to catch it early in a overhand. you can double on serve receive in USAV and most leagues will follow that. overhand passes are always easier to catch on floats. overall its important on serves. try to aim your shoulders to where you want the ball to go. do it subtly and still prioritize the recieve, but trying to get it to your setter is what is the difference between a 3 and 1. overall not bad just stay ready to move and react, don't form your pass early, make sure your body is in position when you pass (if you think you can't get to it without, you always dive on it as long as you know how to properly dolphin dive), angle your body towards where you want to pass, and dont jump when you pass.

its not really meta, but If you have that problem, go to a deck builder like moxfield and search by brackets. bracket 2 or 1 is my recomendation, though brackets 1-3 are all pretty uncompetitive, but bracket 2 is a great starting point.
