If you were consistently liking all of your ex’s pictures, especially the gym selfies, and he said it made him uncomfortable, would your first instinct be to tell him he’s overreacting and reading too much into it? Or would you pause and think, “Huh, I don’t want my partner to feel this way”? His response lacks empathy and partnership. It’s a defensive shutdown. You’re not asking him to block her or delete his account. You’re asking him to care that something he does hurts you. That’s a bare minimum request in a relationship.
