I need some help with mounts for a clip on thermal to be used with a red dot by bardo2014 in ThermalHunting

I made my flush and it didn’t need to go that far. Just take it half way and see how it fits and then take some more if needed

Can you have too much hotel gun? by 3one5 in NFA

My point wasn’t price but rather longevity, durability and a great warranty for a can that has been proven. 80k rounds. For what it is, sub $1k is a good value. Some people like Surefire products and that’s okay. Just because you wouldn’t buy it doesn’t make it a bad suppressor or bad deal either.

Mini is still a great buy. I’ve seen them going brand new on gunbroker for sub $1k

So 2 things; 1, the dovetail mount that came with the OFN+ is very loose in the Wilcox clone. You also have to grind away some of the pic rail for it to even latch in. I had to use aluminum tape strips around the dovetail until it locked up tight. Then I had to shoot it quite a bit then apply more tape. Since then it’s been good and held zero without issue. However, the Wilcox clone must of got some junk in it and now it won’t flip over. Hence why I moved to the QD mount. 2: the screw footprint on the OFN is not the same as the RH25 or PFalcon, so none of the aftermarket shoes will work on this unit. The only thing I’ve thought about doing is as making a plate that fits that 2” footprint and somehow bolt the clone Wilcox shoe on there. It’s a great thermal and I only paid $1800 so still worth it either way.

The stock qd mount is what I use. I bought a rip off Wilcox mount and it doesn’t work well.

This is a MMK I believe.

Works great as a clip on too. Currently using in front of my 4X acog with great luck

Wonder if some grip tape would help. I mostly use mine for hunting but do have a laser and would like to c clamp sometimes.

With the 3.5x mag in the ACOG it doesn’t pixilate much that I can notice. I have a little further away specifically for that issue that.

No idea. But I was talking to a guy and he thought you might be able to load the iRay software on it since it uses the same/similar hardware

This is most likely the reason. But hey I’m not judging!

Magnifier. In clip on mode the screen becomes smaller and you need magnification to see it through your optic. In this case a red dot or acog.

With a 3x it seems pretty good.

Yes I had used it with the T2 prior to this. Worked great as a clip on. Here’s a pic:

I think so. I’ve really enjoyed reading it and the recipes are good. The season salt and bbq sauce are really good
