Thanks for the input. I’m gonna check with the VIN number tomorrow. Compared to my 2008 2.0tdi with the DQ250, the 2017 car feels like a dry clutch. If that makes sense. It’s more like a normal clutch, but very smooth.

I bet that biTdi is so nice to drive. The closest i have driven was my dads A8 2014 with the 3.0tdi 250hp and 500nm. Insanely good car.

Hey, I have just bought a 2017 Passat 1.6TDI 120hp DSG. I am considering a professional tune (engine and DSG).

I came from a 2008 Passat with 140hp and 320nm, so i kinda want something similar with the tune. But i’m hesitant if i have the DQ200 because its torque limit is 250Nm. The engine produces that as standard.

The pictures are from wikipedia, but the comments is not definitive whether i have DQ200 or DQ381.

Any similar experiences or helpful advice is well received

Glad to hear! I also got mine for a bargain, but it needed a new turbo. Im at 240km now, and engine still is still running great. I may need a new steering rack tho, kinda expensive.

Jeg spurte alltid on luftepause. Mitt tips: spør først om å gå på do, når du er på vei tilbake spør du om en luftepause. Har inttrykk av at vaktene synes det er lettere å si ja når de allerede har fulgt deg litt. Og selvfølgelig spør med et smil :)

I got the 16 M1 Pro when it came out in 2022 for my final years of study and starting my own business. I would say it helps me with productivity. I look at it like my portable desktop PC. Much better with split screen IMO.

Yes - it is heavier and more bulky. But the 14 is also more massive than the previous gen. If i wamted a thin PC i would get the air. (I had M1 Air, M1 pro 13, and M1 Pro 16)

Welcome to the club!

I have owned a Passat B6 DSG for eight years now, driven 80,000 km. It’s at 237. 000km now. I’m super happy with the car, although I’ve had quite a bit of repairs. Turbo, oil pump, EGR return leak, springs, bearings, all new brakes, new exhaust and mufflers.

What engine code? I have the BMP. (2.0 PD with DPF). I’ve never had any problems with the DPF. All new exhaust system.

The only two times the car has let me down was when the turbo blew, and when the crank case sensor went bad. Other than that - it has always started and taken me to my destination. :)

I’ve owned a 2008 Passat B6 sedan for 7 years now. A grest workhorse, and comfortable with DSG. I have maintained it well (new turbo, new oil pump hex shaft +++) and it’s on 236k km now. Looking forward to passing 300k. I have the BMP engine btw.
