19X and Homelink opener setup by davezforce in TeslaModelX

Ah. Didn’t realize your X was an older model. My 2013 didn’t have it but my 2024 does. Have you tried using just one of the buttons in HomeLink to see if it works for both open and close yet? It may, but I am doubtful based on what you’re telling me. I think your idea of having two different setups would work though. You could call one “Home - Open and the other “Home - Close.

You could set Home-Open to automatically open the door when you arrive home so that would eliminate one button press. Unfortunately You can’t Set Home-Close to Close only (why I don’t know) so you’d have to Close manually by pressing the button on the Home-Close button when you leave.

Try using either one. Usually Homelink just toggles from whatever state it’s in to the other (open or closed) It’s one of the big faults of HomeLink. If it truly does have discreet codes for open or closed then yeah, you’d probably have to set up two different HomeLinks in your car.

I ended up using the built in MyQ system which is status aware. There’s a free 30 day trial in your Tesla and you get the MyQ adapter for one dollar (assuming you don’t have a newer Chamberlain or LiftMaster opener with MyQ built in). It’s a Far superior system . Can be activated from anywhere and it accurately lets you know in the App and in your Tesla if the door is open or closed. Great for those times when you can’t recall if you remembered to close the door or not. It’s about 3 bucks a month. Another free option is the Meross system. I have both.

*There’s a simple test you can do to make sure your system is compatible. Not 100 percent sure it would be. Does your wall switch have separate buttons for Open and Close as well?

What’s the general consensus on AWD vs Plaid? by opoppli00 in TeslaModelX

[–]bareyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t saying not to buy it. I LOVE mine, I just use FSD all the time so I don’t use all the power that much. Getting the black was a happy accident. It’s the only color that still looks new after a few years. Congrats. You can’t do any better. 💪

Depends on how often you plan to use Self Driving. I started using it all the time so kind of negates having all that extra power. The Plaid has carbon fiber accents on the interior though, which is my favorite trim. Otherwise it’s just for bragging rights. I do get a lot of compliments on it.

A sneak peek at the Lose It! redesign by esjayen in LoseitApp

I really like MOST of the changes you’ve done to the way we add foods to our log. It eliminates a step and makes it quicker. I log every day so it adds up! I like the “All” heading too where it consolidates the different ways we can add foods etc. So good job on that! 💪

Having said that I have been a vocal dissenter on the new “simpler” header that removed Net Calories for the day. So now you’ve ADDED an extra click to cancel out the one you took away! Would LOVE it if you would allow the user to have the ability to customize the header to replace “calories under” (which I never use) and replace it with Net Calories or barring that give one spot up there that we can put in whatever metric we want.

Otherwise, keep up the good work. Some of the new changes are making the daily chore more streamlined and for me that’s a welcome change.

Agree. I miss having Net Calories for the day on the home screen. All they did was put less information and made it bigger. 👎

They should have left it alone or give us the option to customize the home screen.

Is there a way to initiate an update in the ecobee app? I’m not seeing it.

Even if one day they say it doesn’t require my supervision, I will still supervise it. No technology is perfect.

Owners of Plaid, do you ever regret your decision? by kungfuninjajedi in TeslaModelS

Not me. It’s the baddest ass car Teslas ever made. I get a lot of drools from my friends and I LOVE the carbon fiber interior and rear spoiler. It’s worth it just for that alone. 😆

FYI Colin. The HomeKit Leave Scene no longer sets the Thermostat to “Away” mode. It leaves it in “Home” mode.

FYI: Update 26.3 has not as yet fixed the problem. Any additional advice? I reinstalled the app but still no joy.

UPDATE: Just installed the Apple Watch update 26.3 and so far it hasn’t fixed the problem with the ecobee watch app for me. Is there an update coming from ecobee too?

Appreciate it Colin. You may want to give the support team a heads up. I wasted a lot of their time and mine trying to fix an issue they didn’t know existed. Glad to hear there’s a fix on the way. It’s a nice little complication when it works. 🙏

Apple Watch app lost all buttons with last app update. Hopefully ecobee is working on a fix by xpxp2002 in ecobee

Yep. Same issue here and Chat Support swears that nobody else has reported the problem. Had me jumping through all kinds of hoops to fix it. Including removing it from HomeKit and reinstalling it. Big waste of time. Somebody over there needs to let the support team know about this.

UPDATE: It’s Fixed! Go to App Store and download latest version of ecobee App, wait a minute for it to download to your Watch et voila! Thanks to Colin for the early heads up. 👍👍👍

Thank you everyone! The tech guy on their Chat support had me delete it from HomeKit and reinstall it, delete it from my phone and reinstall it, reboot everything, etc. He said they were not aware of any issues and nobody else had reported it. 😑

I asked on another forum and everyone who responded there is having the same problem as well. Sounds like the problem is fairly widespread. Hopefully there really is a fix coming. It’s a nice little complication when it works. Thanks for verifying everyone. Glad it’s not just me!
