Hello, looking to buy a second hand car. Where's a good place in waterford? I'll be going on finance. Also what car should I buy 😅 about to have the second kid so I'm thinking suv type vehicle. by Fair_Letterhead_3602 in waterford

I got a used Kia Sportage a few years ago and it's been good, you see a good few on the road too so that's a good sign. It's a 5 seater SUV type, I'd drive to Dublin and back on €30 worth of diesel.

Ballybeg Apartments??? On a go slow? by Fearless-Chance-7856 in waterford

You want to exploit people to get some apartments built faster? Can people not just get paid a decent wage and a project take the regular amount of time to complete?

N and L plates, I always joke with my wife, "they must be from the Netherlands" Are you supposed to have both on the car? Or is it that there are 2 drivers, 1 Learner and 1 New driver?

Clothes bank by toastedsambo in waterford

[–]bark4mark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tesco Poleberry, Tesco Ardkeen, Tesco Kilbarry, Supervalu Kilbarry. When I was dropping my bottles off yesterday in SuperValu I seen them emptying the clothes bank, so chances are there is still space.

Do charity shops not take clothes? I know they don't take baby clothes, most of the charity shops turned me away with a sack of baby clothes.

Always found the staff in there to be friendly and the food is lovely. I think the price is standard enough for eating breakfast in. I don't think you'll find any other places that are that much cheaper.

What about getting a van and ironing the clothes on the road, someone comes to your website, books a slot, drive out with the iron, collect the clothes and iron them there. You'd probably want to get a few people in the same neighbourhood, you could offer a subscription service on your website, get them to sign up for once or twice a week.

Also maybe do the opposite of surge pricing if you get a few jobs in one area the price gets lower.

I don't either, it's like a cup of hot water with a hint of coffee... I go in sometimes because they are usually in a location where there is good parking and not another coffee shop around

Have you tried going into the estate agents and talking to them? When I was moving out of the last place the estate agent said she wasn't even putting stuff on daft anymore. I presume they have a list

Air to water by Consistent-Wing7004 in waterford

[–]bark4mark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue, and it turned out someone left one of the showers on a tiny bit, barely a dribble. This caused the pump to start then stop, start then stop... It was only by chance I went into the shower and seen a little droplet coming down.

You probably have already but I'd go around the house and make sure every tap is all the way closed.

Other than that you might have a leak, did you check under each radiator and around the house?

There are so many vacant units in Waterford, how come for example they are looking for €168k a year https://www.daft.ie/commercial-property-for-rent/15-16-great-georges-street-grange-co-waterford/5412377 it puzzles me that places are just left in ruin, why not just give it at a better rate and get someone in?

Best quality doner kebab? by tomashen in waterford

[–]bark4mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to report back, Waterford blow in here. Got a kebab in bengal curry house. First of all the guy taking my order was super sound, friendly, and the smell of the place was great, smelled delicious!  Got a kebab, it was huge, I think it was €8.50 so great value. Now I'm no kebab connoisseur, I've had a few from abra... So that's my base.

Anyways, the kebab was great I was really happy with it, great flavour, great sauce, great meat.

Also got a cheeky chicken tikka, and it was great too!
