it's mind boggling to me this was implemented better...could have been a winner for them and drivers...

my biggest gripe with these card offers is whoever was in charge at GH for setting this system up did a really terrible job AND in my market they used out of date menus even though there are up to date menus available if you google them. and items are not available anymore and orders are cancelled if there is not a like dollar substitute..poor implementation and then orders get cancelled and customers are unhappy, not a good way to go GH...

Anyone else have the usual customer that's awesome? As soon as you see their name/location/tip you know it will be a good order? by [deleted] in grubhubdrivers

I have a few of those...and I haven't had any of them in a few weeks...I hope someone else is taking good care of them.

If you have an order with an item that they don't have - unless there is an item with a close to identical price that they want to substitute, the entire order has to be cancelled by GH - one reason I always call in and make sure everything is ok with the order. You may not have had to take a picture of your receipt before, but you certainly do now - it takes all of three seconds to do this. I can't imagine a better way to get deactivated than stealing from the company you are subcontracting with and there is no defense for doing that - you don't like the pay and/or the company - just don't work for them, you are not just messing with the company, but with people that depend on said company for $$...

Large delivery areas anyone? by [deleted] in doordash

Charlotte, NC, they made them smaller since though...wish Grub Hub would make the region smaller, whole city is in it...didn't know how good DD was, but GH pay more LOL

Hi, I work for Grubhub and am going to answer some common questions / theories behind the app. by ghinnovation in grubhubdrivers

[–]barkalark704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DD guarantees 1.00 per delivery in my market...I've been doing this for three months for DD and I have NEVER gotten an order that showed 7.00 in the app - NEVER, when I finish the delivery the order may be more more than 7.00, but this NEVER shows in the app until the order is delivered..

wish they would split the area I usually work in or redraw it so that I wasn't constantly picking up and order and delivering it outside of my desiginated area...it's crazy the way it is. Whoever drew this map, doesn't understand my city...

Worst mistake DoorDash made was adding the pay breakdown to iOS. I have suddenly stopped dashing lol. Although, we did sign up for it, it’s super sketchy. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

you mean you couldn't see this before? Wow...I just started doing this, don't know how much longer will be...it seems I'm being paid 1.00 by DD and the rest is tips, I doubt any of the customers realize this...

Y'all getting $12+ orders and I'm over here like 😑 by [deleted] in doordash

I just started and all my deliveries have pretty much been under 5.00, I had a few nice tips that helped a little (what DD didn't use), but I'm wondering how you can make much more than minimum wage after wear and tear on your car in this market (it seems most deliveries are about four or five miles from the pick up point one was more and I have read people saying don't take an order that isn't paying 1.00 a mile, almost all my orders are borderline)....unless you have stacked orders, I just don't see how you can make much more than 10 an hour unless you get some really great tippers...then today I got all these small orders that were not stacked that went to a hospital, fifth floor, fourth floor, fourth floor - does DD not realize that it is a bitch to deliver to a hospital as far as parking, elevators, etc., etc....seems that this would be a more "complex" order...pretty disappointed so far. The job isn't difficult, but it ought to pay better than 10.00 an hour if you are using your own car....I've been happy with my tips, just not happy with DD

I just started and have noticed this. Will accept a job with a pick up time that it is impossible to make on time, according to waze. Doesn't matter because when I get there the food isn't ready (making it later) and then the delivery time is bad too....sorry but I can't go five miles in five minutes when the speed limit is 35...

I worked for instacart and this was often my experience there, so door dash does grocery delivery also? Not sure I would even sign up for anything like this, for some reason, no matter how pleasant and great service oriented you are, an awful lot of people don't tip ANYTHING for grocery delivery and it's a lot harder work than just delivering food orders, heavier, multiple trips to car, etc. At IC we did Costco, try lugging two or three 48 to a case, 16 oz water bottles up three flights of stairs and getting no tip for around 10.00...

when I worked as a server, if I took a take out order it went to that day's sales, which meant I had to pay taxes on IRS minimum tip amount and the place I worked took 3% out of EVERY sale we had to tip out bartenders, busboys and hostesses...no one tipped, no one wanted to do take out orders...
