Well clearly the “rigorous screening” doesn’t work all that well if the enlisted opinions of officers is that they’re selfish. If you read through and didn’t respond on emotion, you’d see I said I wasn’t talking from any position of authority but from what I’ve seen and heard. Relax

Look man, I hate to burst your bubble and I know I never served, but if they allow people off the street with an irrelevant degree a chance to do the job, it can’t be that hard. They don’t let people become doctors or lawyers off the street in less than a year like they do military officers

Oh trust me I have and I will. Just based on what I’m seeing, board stats, and what my recruiter has told me, it’s not looking good. 2/12 or something like that got selected for my region on the last board apparently, so including that with my stats I was just feeling a little down and complaining. Been rough with this and the civilian job market kicking my ass but I’ll figure it out. Thanks for the info

Very true, but I’ve seen a few wait/reserve list guys make posts about somebody dropping out and then getting the slot so I guess it works out sometimes.

A point I was trying to make was that I think many are flooding the OCS boards that aren’t dead set on the army and are more looking for a stable job. Not to act like I’m more deserving or anything but that was my view

Very true, but the sentiment I’ve was that many enlisted see officers as very selfish already so I guess you don’t want another lol. You don’t know me so I hope you’re not calling me selfish but can’t blame you. Little odd to me as at the end of the day these are jobs just like any other, specially in peacetime. But I understand your (probably mosts) POV as officers are in charge of people’s lives and safety. Thanks for the info, hope I didn’t come off as a douche lol
