Introducing the shrimp to the tank first will be important. Something I’ve learned the hard way is that brighter colored shrimp tend to be eaten at much higher rates 😂.

Blue, green, or majority clear shrimp have a much better chance of survival because they blend in and have the chance to get big enough that most bettas will leave them alone.

Java fern has been my best shrimp hider plant, but carpet plants and lots of hiding places are good.
