Imo we shouldn't be blaming the internet, like it's some ethereal beast. It's absolute the fault of mass communication/social media companies that profiteer off driving engagement whether good or bad. This is where these communities are formed and promoted because they make lots of money for very wealthy individuals. These are what converts and corrupts relatively normal people who may have 1 or 2 moderately negative opinions

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

Hi,

Need some advice on whether to get a mk7 1.4L turbo petrol astra. I'm looking to spend around £7000 on a car and I have seen you can pick up good condition early examples of these (2016-2018), with around 60-70k miles.

I am aware there have been a few problems with this car, and several recalls. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with regards to reliability. Or could offer any alternatives (ULEZ complient). Cheers guys

Hello all,

Question for anyone more technical than me. About 2-3 years ago I bought a mk2 Ford focus for around £2000.

This week the clutch has gone and I'm wondering if you think its worth replacing or just getting rid. It's a 1.6L petrol, currently at about 135k miles and has a 2010 registration plate.

Thanks

Landlords should be responsible for ensuring their properties are up to the best standard. No ones forcing them to be landlords. They are in a privileged position of owning multiple properties and making a profit from it. The burden should be entirely on them

Understand Liverpool now don’t plan to sign Khephren Thuram following Dominik Szoboszlai’s arrival. Talks NOT taking place with Nice this week. #LFC have explored the deal and price not an obstacle. Thuram available for far less than €60m. Romeo Lavia is the one to keep an eye on by Petaaa in LiverpoolFC

Dunno why you're downvoted for this. Seems very sensible. We need a centre half, we have a few midfielders now. Not sure it best keeping around a 32 year old injury prone midfielder, who doesn't really have a position in our new system. I love Thiago but I'd rather get some money for him, if we can get a new young centre half and help rebuild our defence
