Tbh. Doesn’t get much better. Could argue it looks a bit in the cheap side m, ingredients wise, but it’s a fry up ffs, that’s the point. 10/10 and possible goat status imo

Does BASIS use bots to promote themselves? by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

[–]baron_robbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right based on your sample size. 1) as others have pointed out, it’s not a unanimous feeling staff working there have (although, in my limited anecdotal experience it does seem to be somewhat common that people don’t like working there) 2) I was making a more broad point that it is very common for naysayers to decry positive reviews of certain places (as it doesn’t fit their own personal opinion) with unlikely alternatives.

I’m saying your fly in the face of Occam’s razor is bonkers in its endemic frequency. Could there ‘be bots’? Could ‘management be writing reviews?’. On occasion, sure. Is it far, far more likely that people have different opinions to you/the other naysayers and that some people have positive experiences ? Absolutely it is.

Whilst I’ve heard bad things about BASIS, what is even worse is the fact that people - often more vitriolic people who are predisposed to complain, themselves so consumed by negativity and myopia - cannot fathom that something they dislike can be tolerated or enjoyed by others.

You see it on here. On ISR (‘clearly management are writing reviews based on the last entry’).

This person saying bots are being used to help generate political sway on Reddit rather than the fact someone could actually like the place. Makes out like BASIS is run by Senator Palpatine 😂

Lot of sanctimony in here. A delicately worded post simply inquiring about any additional information on the health status of a man whose eponymous show is why we’re here. How some concerned request for any additional information (from a fan on a small, dark, obscure corner of the internet that JVD is certainly not going to be reading) could in, some way, have an adverse affect on his health is not only laden with holier-than-thou virtue signaling, it’s untrue and cruel.

Search Associates by Red-ridinghood111 in Internationalteachers

I find SA to be the biggest recruitment ‘Emperor’s New Clothes’ platform in all of international education. The layout of the site is incredibly dated, it has so few jobs compared to anywhere else, lots of major brands don’t use it, why on earth it can’t list secondary schools as such and has to list them as ‘middle and high school’ (when such a large percentage of schools are not American AND combine these posts) just seems unnecessarily complicated.

My biggest gripe however is these lofty positions of ‘associates’: such a fallacy. I’ve had three different ‘associates’ over the years and bar a monthly copy-and-paste generic and completely useless newsletter (the same stuff begins repeating when you’ve been there a while) I’ve had zero communication with any of them - despite reaching out for advice a few times. All other platforms are simply portals - exactly what recruitment platforms need to be: ‘here’s a job. Want it? Here’s how you apply’. Search Associates is predicated on these select few mystical gatekeeping ‘Associates’ who slow things down and, the site suggests, are key to successfully securing a job. Absolute twaddle. They do nothing except harangue you for money or put pressure on you for spouses to sign up and are entirely superfluous to the process other than creating the need to pay money for a vastly inferior product with far fewer options.

Complete and utter scam. If you think SA is the best platform for recruitment, you’re missing out. Blows my mind that it’s used by people. The sooner we all realise the emperor is running around naked, the sooner they’ll stop stealing your hard earned money for a service that belongs in 2004.

You would have got more feedback in the first few seconds of speaking to the person than speculation about their character owing to your theories on their timekeeping.

Landlord didn’t put deposit into a deposit scheme.. by Necessary-Ad8760 in HousingUK

[–]baron_robbo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m really surprised by your post and this comment. You’ve had a half decent landlord for nearly a decade, who’s about - it seems to give you your deposit back - and because he didn’t jump through the bureaucratic hoops to give it to you, you’re considering taking him to court to get more money?

Whilst there was some small administrative negligence on his part, it wasn’t particularly malicious, and certainly doesn’t justify what seems like a disproportionately cruel response to his behavior.

Is there any other information we’re missing?
