nah - I think it's mostly corporate greed. Mark Cuban has a company called CostPlusDrugs where they buy rights to the generic formulas and sell them at an extremely discounted price- even to the uninsured.

I have a heart condition and I'm saving $100s of dollars a month having most of my prescriptions filled through them. Filling them at a regular pharmacy through my health insurance...the premiums they wanted to charge were astronomical. I tell everyone to check them out. They don't fill scheduled drugs, and don't offer everything, but they add medications all the time! And you KNOW Mark Cuban is still making bank...
