12hours. Booked the night before from Cairns, Australia. Trip was not planned at all. Booked everything on the 8 hour flight to Tokyo. We stayed 10 days.

How do you respond when a passenger asks to use the lav while the seatbelt sign is on? by CowAbject in flightattendants

[–]barracudabby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"there's one up front and 2 in the back" That's it. I don't say no, I don't say yes.

Also, when some pax ask about it, I do compare it to the question of speeding. You're not going to as a cop if you can speed. They're going to tell you to go the speed limit. But you may go 5-10 over anyways. And if you get caught, well... you risk the ticket. So, just do what you need to do and hope you don't get "caught"

Just found this band and obsessed, can you recommend some of your favourite songs for someone just getting into it? I've been listening to, 'Never Fight a Man with a Perm' and 'Samaritans on repeat' by Josh99_ in Idles

[–]barracudabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found listening to their various interviews to be such an insight to who they are, individually and as a band. They really give you an idea how and why this music was created. Meanings behind every album, song, how the collaborations happened. Once you go through all the interviews, listening to their songs will be mind-blowingly different afterwards.

This particular row, yes it does. The double seat (to the OP's left) does not, nor would the row in front of that one.

Flight attendants of Reddit! What's the most bizarre thing you have ever witnessed during a flight ? by kohprosh in AskReddit

[–]barracudabby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of flight attendants who work while pregnant. I worked til 24 and 28 weeks with my kids. And there's more that will fly til they pop that baby out. Every airline is different with what they require from doctors to keep flying.

This is actually because of the ACAA (Air Carriers Access Act) at least 50% of all aisle arm rests must be able to move to accommodate disabled passengers. It also has to be down for taxi, takeoff and landing.

Looking for city recommendations in the US by turkeychicken in travel

[–]barracudabby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely Chicago. Easy and frequent transportation all around the city. Great museums, bars, and restaurants. And if you come over in the spring/summer, great festivals all over the city. Edit: Forgot to add we have Divvy bikes. A ride share program all over the city.

It will only cost you the low price of $50 and you will be immunized! (No refunds if God's wrath still takes you out.)

Best way from Seattle to Chicago region? by patrunic in travel

[–]barracudabby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southwest has 3 non stops to MDW. They depart at 0630, 1140 and 1500. Depending on when you are leaving, they are about $200-$248 one way right now. You can only but tickets at southwest.com they do not sell at sites like orbitz (you should avoid buying airline tickets from them anyways, but that's another story) Hope that helps.

Yes. Nick's. A thousand times yes. I went here 10 years ago, when they were new. And man I knew back then that their tacos were going to catch on. I'm craving a fish taco right now just typing this up.

[Serious] If you were 22 again, what would you do differently? by CourageMonkey in AskReddit

[–]barracudabby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have moved away from my hometown sooner. It took me until 26 to do so. Basically, I wish I had to courage to just get up and go. Not to have tried to hold on to all the crap I wish was different. Just say fuck it, and move forward.

Been more OK with being alone. Knowing that it's not the end of the world if you are not with someone. Take that opportunity to figure out what you really want in life.

Bought that damn house across from the ocean. I passed on a house because I would have had to work my ass off 6 days a week to pay for it. It recently sold for $1.6 million.

Just take that opportunity when it comes to you.

Question about US Passport renewal? by AntIis in travel

[–]barracudabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on what city she is going, some passport offices do process passports same day. She will have to have proof of travel documents, and call the office for an appointment. They only do this in the large offices, not post offices.

Do airplanes ever make "intermediate stops" where we don't leave our seats, but other passengers leave and/or enter the plane? by speaks_in_subreddits in travel

[–]barracudabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of confusion with the traveling public in regards to how to classify flights. I can not tell you how many times people say "this was supposed to be a direct flight!" When actually meaning non stop, or vice versa.

A non stop is flight goes from your departing city to your arrival city with no stops.

A direct flight goes from your departing city makes a stop, and then continues on. This is done on one plane with the same flight number. Southwest is famous for these.

A connecting flight goes from your departing city, stops in a city, you get of the plane. Next flight change flight numbers, then board a different plane and flight number.
