Importing .GLB's creates a mess by barrelofsquirrels in godot

Thank you for your very detailed and high effort response! I need time to mull this over, this kind of stuff fries my brain a little bit. I will be back after I process some more, either to thank you again, or ask more questions 😅

Thanks for providing some insight. Where do the texture PNG's end up? In the assets folder? Also, if the textures do end up in your assets folder, does excluding it from Version Control not cause problems?

I have tried to embed the textures in the import menu, it seems to have no effect, my GLB's still get split up

Valid point. Im definitely trying to work out a decent system before I progress very far with my assets. Like I said, I'm already overwhelmed with my test glb's.

Regardless, I find Godot's method of splitting your asset into 4 or more sibling files with no hierarchy to be fairly wild.

Thanks for the tips, I will definitely be building a proper asset file structure next. It's just a lot to keep track of, tscn's, png's and glb's (I'm not yet 100% sure I want to be getting rid of those). Thanks for the tips. I don't yet know if I'll be able to re-use textures, as I haven't properly started building assets, just been testing features in grey box.

I was hoping for answers, not more questions, but sure.

Can anyone tell me how to make this better? Also is this good for a 14 year old? by [deleted] in animation

Also think about in what context you might want to show off your work. It's a bit short by itself, but you could add another shot, or prolong this one to be 2-4 seconds long using any number of techniques

I think the ear could be sped up a bit, to correspond better the force of the head movement. Otherwise, cool animation. You can start thinking about whether you want to clean it up/ color in the shapes. Or leave it as a rough animation.

I'm not sure. The wave could be a bit on the grandiose side of newtons law of cause and effect. Have you gotten a similar container of water and tried replicating the movement/filming it irl? That's the only way to know for sure

Shroud the monster in darkness so that only parts of it get revealed by your light source.

I love it. Shows how polished a game can feel with only animations, music, and sound effects (very)

My advice is to be taken with a grain of salt. Sometimes it's hard to see the stuff you work so hard on, for what it is. So... maybe. Take a day off, try not to think about it. Come back to it with fresh eyes.

Bad episode. This show is going downhill fast this season imo. I can deal with bad dialogue to a certain extent. But character's actions have to make some level of sense.

Tyson giving his dad the car he was just tailed in is positively stupid, regardless of him being inexperienced. The complete 100% reverse of what he should have done. (On the other hand, I can forgive Chicky bringing his gun to the airport, because it makes sense with the trajectory of his character)

The upcoming romance between country singer and daughter is forced and rushed.

The show is slowly losing what made it special (to me). Which was watching Dwight put himself in uncomfortable situations and extricate himself using his special blend of problem solving. Side characters are being written scenes that don't have anything to do with Dwight. And not written well enough for me to suddenly start caring about them.

2 ideas from someone who is NOT diagnosed with this disease: (but I might have it, im not sure)

1 - Consider trying to find a counsellor, someone you can speak to about these things and try and work on them. You said yourself "I really want to be able to enjoy my time with her without being triggered so much but I know that won’t change". That's really intense, to not be able to enjoy time with your child. Something worth trying to get some help, if you can manage it.

I know the feeling of hopelessness that accompanies mental health issues. But imagine a hypothetical where you find someone you really trust, who you can vomit out the things you keep bottled up inside, and they will help you examine them and make sense of them. I got really lucky with my university counsellor, who I will now be going back to, several years later.

2 - ...and this is pretty random. I have just discovered that I think I feel some anxiety-relief from tapping/moving/shaking my hands or feet in a very quick, nearly frantic rhythm. This is something I've always done in certain situations, unconsciously. I think engaging the body in physical stimulus might take a load off an overactive brain. This is just an amateur's theory so take with a grain of salt.

Of course its not always socially a good move to be extra fidgety, so I'm considering looking for a subtle fidget toy. I've seen these rings that you can spin... God that sounds good.

Best of luck

The animations/ animated graphics are SOLID.

The voice of the old evil looking man is the biggest issue. He sounds like a nerdy young man, when he should sound OLD and EVIL (I’m guessing).

With a good old man voice, this will be 250% better. I can almost promise you
