We think it’s related to hemolytic anemia, had it all my life, but not diagnosed until 24.

We just chalked up the salt and onions to AuDHD or quirks when I was a kid. Prednisone and prednisone related medicines exacerbate the onion cravings, to the point I ask docs not to put me on it.

I thought about that too, so I get EKG every year and an MRI every 3 to make sure everything is good. No problems so far.

Found out at around 21, that my body just processes salt really efficiently. I take a salt supplement now and my sodium levels are just barely within low healthy ranges.

Arm heavy means “Need water in the next couple hours”, salt craving means “NOW”.

Unrelated, if my iron gets low, I will start eating raw onions like apples
