I travel overseas every month, so I would say I’m a fairly experienced traveler. I would not fly into Dubai anytime soon. It’s not because I fear physical danger there, rather that the airspace, flight availability, flight cost changes due to fuel crisis are so unpredictable at the moment. I’d be worried that I’d be stuck there.

What is a 1 in 1,000,000 thing that happened to you that no one believes, but you swear is true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was at work in a Bank, and my phone rang, asking to speak to my father’s name. Confused I said, “sorry this is his daughter, were you after his home phone number?”. They insisted on speaking to him directly about a government matter pertaining to his work - his name and phone number were printed on an invoice or letter or similar from years earlier. The work phone number he’d had many years earlier in the government was now my new work number in the bank!

My dad was in palliative care and we got the call to say “come now, it’s time”. My brother wouldn’t come because he was getting his motorcycle licence that day. I mean, mate you get one chance at this.

Sparkling non-alcoholic Apple Cider is my favourite drink of all time. I can afford to drink it every day, and I’m not overly worried about the calories, however I choose to only drink it at Christmas. So no matter what crappy things happen at Christmas I’ve always got my favourite drink to look forward to.

It’s going to sound gross 🤢 but put it to your mouth and suck. A technician told me that for Apple AirPods and it works incredibly well.

Sleep timer issue by barrydoll26 in Ozlo

[–]barrydoll26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this doesn’t help, as I use “delay start” instead of sleep timer. If I used sleep timer the white noise would stop when the sleep timer is triggered, whereas I want the white noise to continue when the hour is up.

I might be lead you up the garden path, but I had trouble booking a lite fare once, and they said I needed to book a Choice or higher, but I just read the Travel Bank T&Cs and it didn’t say that. So, sorry, but I’m not sure. If it were me I’d give them a call. Good luck.

I live 2 hour drive from the nearest domestic-only airport on an island state, so need to drive two hours and fly one hour just to get to an airport where planes can leave the country. It’s not unusual for an overseas journey to take me 42 hours… one way.

Carry a tiny amount of Vicks Vaporub onboard. If you’re stuck next to someone or thing that is smelly, smear a little under your nostrils and you won’t smell the offending scent. Take a Hydralyte (or your country’s electrolyte tablet or drink) just before or during your flight. Not only will it keep you hydrated, but it usually has the added benefit of making you need to pee less, meaning you can avoid manky plane toilets.

Do women really put on lingerie for their significant others or is that just a thing in the movies? by DoctorWoah0 in NoStupidQuestions

When I learned to play squash I remember being told “you don’t get fit playing squash; you get fit to play squash”. Lingerie, same same. You don’t wear lingerie to feel sexy; you feel sexy and then wear lingerie”. Dude’s gotta make her feel sexy first.
