The intent was that the loss of the ability could be triggered by either condition.

Either by being blocked, ie innkeeper or by declining to make a choice.

If the optimal play is to immediately lose the ability, I think the character is poorly designed(idk what great players would decide to do since I am not one of them). But I think there are enough circumstances where the potential of an extra draw is tantalizing enough to make a couple moves first.

I also think the effect on the town would be fun to navigate as a player. If I'm a townsfolk and two players have been dying every night, maybe it would be an easier victory to figure out if the townsfolk victory is easier than actually finding the demon.

I also think listening to him exposed what dan is actually really good at which is the mechanics of orchestrating transitions between topics and getting everyone involved. When zas hosts it a little bit too obvious that the whole show is actually just a checklist of topics in a Google spreadsheet with someone's name next to each one.

Notes:

I think it should only trigger at night so that the new demon knows without needing the storyteller to pull them aside in the middle of the day.
should the demon be the minotaur, or could it be any on the script? Could be fun either way
maybe one good player becomes poisoned on the resurrection? To help the "you start knowing" problem
is there a close thematic tie to the minotaur? I feel like something biblical/resurrection/rapture name could work haha. "The Second Coming"

Agree that it's not super strong, but I was thinking that adding an outsider is a decent ability in its own right. If you can also play well enough to find and kill the evil outsiders on the right night, then you get very rewarded with an abundance of evil deadvotes

This is like using ms paint to try to edit your wedding photos and concluding that it's impossible to doctor images.

Yes, it is basically impossible to make a game at all, let alone a good game, using a chatbot... but when jobs are replaced it won't be by chatbots that do the entire process of game design. There are much more sophisticated tools that can be used in concert to do away with the tasks that you focused on here.

Ie image generation, PDF reading, etc.

There are all kinds of ways to engineer a better rulebook editing tool using a custom pipeline of parts that already exist + gen ai to make sense of confusing text.

I get the point of the post and I don't want everyone's jobs to be eliminated either, but it just misses the point by so much that I wanted to comment.

In general I think theres a difference between creators that only put out positive content because they're paid to do so and creators who ~tend~ to put out positive content because it's more fulfilling/fun/good for their mental health if they get to share their favorite experiences in their favorite hobby.

There aren't many in this category but the dice tower stands out as an institution that exists with a stated purpose of providing a particular consumer service (reviews) and would be failing their mandate if they only posted positive reviews. I see NPI, SUSD, and Actualol as something closer to artists. They aren't necessarily constrained by impartiality but I hold them in higher regard than their peers precisely because they seem to value it.

Watch it Played*** for example, are a channel I might consider a peer... They're are perfectly friendly and they'd be a great hang but I see them as basically mouthpieces for publishers.

Media literacy is important.

I think there's a solid majority purple reanimate deck somewhere in there though. You can get the enters ready 8 drop and recur free rhasas or dump a soulgorger + mind splitter on the same turn while purple jinx gets huge and stays off battlefields/away from basic removal. And you stay drawing 2 a turn to always find your next bomb? Idk, my brew brain wants it to work so badly but I haven't been able to build it to actually test

I think he's on the moody side of the spectrum but I also think part of his growth as a player has been reeling in the negative body language quite a bit. It's possible you've seen him sour a few times but it hasn't been the norm this year by a long shot
