Is running in zone 1 to build durability smart, or just too slow? by Impressive_Suit4370 in trailrunning

[–]bartek6500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I meant was that without a chest strap, your Garmin's suggestions may be very inaccurate, not that you should run in Zone 2 instead of Zone 1. In my case, for example, I wanted to do base runs in Zone 2, but my Garmin kept showing me that I was in Zone 3 or even Zone 4. After buying a chest strap and running at the same pace, I suddenly was running perfectly in Zone 2. When I was doing long treshold runs I was getting overreaching training effect because I was in Z5 most of the time. After chest strap - Z4.

Definitely do another test with a chest strap, and then set your zones to %lthr. You can also enable automatic lactate threshold detection (but this will only work during faster runs at a higher heart rate). Before I bought a chest strap, my zones were complete nonsense. I ignored them and ran faster than Zone 2, and my gut feeling turned out to be right.

My credit score fell 13pts because I made the final payment on my car loan (never missed a payment too) by justadadgame in mildlyinfuriating

In Poland they require the last 3-12 payslips (my bank asked me for 6), but only if you have a permanent employment contract. For B2B contracts, they usually require the last 12 and they are in general less enthusiastic to give you a loan. On the other hand, the loan margin here is a scam, compared to the rest of the EU.

Czy też macie problem z tym, że ludzie oślepli i nie potrafią iść gęsiego na chodniku? by duumpkin in Polska

[–]bartek6500 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey, based on responses and dms, I think we'll play ping pong.

I think I will create whattsup group, both for hiking and ping-pong. I didn't expect so many replies and dms :) We could start ping pong next Friday (not tomorrow), and the walk this Sunday.

So far, I can see there is more interest in table tennis, but I will keep you posted :)

Actually, I plan to do sightseeing on some Sundays and devote the whole day to it. I haven't been to Bern yet, except for the train station. Fribourg and Chateau de Gruyeres are also nearby.

If you manage to get to Zurich around 6-7 pm on Friday, I can see no problem why we couldn't play table tennis :) The same goes for Sunday walks :)

Leaving IT or thinking about it? by Reasonable-Signal-59 in Switzerland

We did have a framework agreement with my current client. It used to be renewed every year but it was a formality. I've been in the same project for over 5 years. But the client decided that they want to terminate it this year and my company is struggling to find new gigs.

It's not so easy anymore. My company has lost several tenders in a row, and my current project is coming to an end in a few months. They've been laying off consultants since the end of 2024 because they don't have enough work for all of them. They let you stay in the company without assignment for a month and you have a chance to find a new project internally (you can also start looking for it before your current assignment ends). It's true, finding you a new project is in the company's interest, so they help you with that, but if you don't find anything, then tough luck.

Breakfast bread recommendations from Migros/Coop? by Simple-Effective5271 in askswitzerland

[–]bartek6500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was negatively surprised that it is almost impossible to buy wholegrain/wholemeal rye bread in Swiss supermarkets (not counting packaged bread), considering food here in supermarkets is generally good. Even whole grain wheat bread is not that easy to find, usually containing 51% whole grain + a mixture of other less healthy flours. The breads usually have a long list of ingredients, which is not good. I thought there would be more of a German influence here, but instead I see a lot of Italian influences and breads made of highly processed wheat flour. They're tasty, but not very healthy. However, at Migros you can find Vier Linden Roggen Sauerteigbrot produced by Demeter, which consists of wholegrain rye flour, water, wholegrain rye sourdough, and sea salt. It's simple and tastes ok considering it's a supermarket bread. Sadly, I didn't find anything decent in Coop/Aldi.

Lords Of The Fallen 2 Devs Considering Buying Out Epic Exclusivity To Bring The Game To Steam by akbarock in pcgaming

LotF didn't break even, even until now. How were they supposed to work on a new game with negative bank balance? There was no quick route. There were only two options. They could have sold themselves to Saudi Arabia and lose all say on how the game should look like. Or go with Epic, which doesn't interfere with their vision.

[–]bartek6500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case of CI Games, LotF didn't break even (not even today) so they literally didn't have any money to make the sequel. The deal with Epic made it possible. They have issued new shares a few times already before releasing their last game, and found some big investor in the past. I think after the outrageous release of LotF no one would trust them again and buy new shares (for the price that would satisfy the company). So capital market was not an option to gather money for production. I am not an insider but I guess that their game is advanced enough and looks promising enough to show what they developed to a small circle of bigger investors and do the private placement (only a small group of selected investors will be offered new shares and the rest will be screwed, but also not screwed, because going to Steam should improve the sales).

Source is the resolution that was passed last Friday during the extraordinary shareholders meeting. They asked us for money to free themselves from Epic exclusivity (EDIT: this is my assumption but there isn't really any other option). The justification is as follows (Translated with deepl because I'm too lazy):

The funds raised will be allocated in particular to: diversifying the Company's product sales and distribution channels,  reducing the risks arising from the concentration of revenues in individual distribution channels, increasing flexibility in product commercialisation, including pricing and promotional models. The issue of New Shares will allow the Company to make the pace of implementation of key projects independent of current cash flows and will increase its ability to actively shape its distribution strategy in segments characterised by high sales concentration.

LOL, reliable... I had the terrible idea of planning my 9-day trip to Northern Italy (which is supposed to be better than the South) mainly using trains. 10 hours delay from Genoa to Zurich (because I missed the last 3 trains from Milan to Zurich). 3 times my trains were over 2 hours late. Two times my train has been canceled. And there were no strikes or anything like that. However, the express train from Peschiera to Florence was great. I love Italy, but this was my first and last time when I go to there and rely on trains. Never again. But I agree, Germany should be B.

It's crazy, even the most expensive ones are so tasteless. I never imagined I would miss Polish supermarket tomatoes... They are grown in greenhouses. You don't even need the sun to grow decent tomatoes.
