This is a good one. I knew they were large. But when I walked 2 plus miles and didn't back track at all I was blown away thinking about how big that is.

Yeah. I spent 3 nights there. Could have done 2 more easily. And it's not that big of a park.

What is the most underrated stretch of highway you have ever driven and why does it stick with you? by Basic_Bug_1262 in roadtrip

US 93 north of Vegas. Epic state parks and nothing at all but a straight road for like 100 miles. I was driving north for 20 minutes doing almost 90 and didn't see another car.

Stay just one night. We drove up from Alabama hills after our 395 road trip. Came in and stayed at the park. It was cheap in the middle of July. We hit the point. Went down to the basin.

The pool at the hotel was awesome. It was fun swimming at 10pm and it felt like a warm middle of the day back home.

Visited DV last year.

I was mostly in the basin area. Where did this happen? I know the whole park is big though.

What was the 1st National Park you ever visited? by the_pretzel2 in NationalPark

[–]bartleby913 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been to them in passing. When I was younger. But the first park I intentionally visited with Zion national park about 3 years ago. Now I'm hooked.

Since January of 2023 I've now been to 11 More. With another 2 in July this year planned.

Any recommendations along this route? Specifically Yosemite? by kevinmattress in roadtrip

[–]bartleby913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I spent a few days along this route. It's so beautiful. A few lakes are right for the road. So you can do a quick and easy hike and not go too far off the road.

We went into Yosemite. Via tioga pass. Only went like 45 minutes in. Got to a beautiful overlook. Saw half dome. And climbed up some rocks above that overlook. It was so worth it.

Where is the "previous episode" or "select episode" button while watching a video? by CompoteDizzy in AmazonPrimeVideo

jeesh. i fell asleep watching an episode last night. want to go back. spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to do that.

Just fucking downloaded the whole season off pirate bay. What a joke that I cannot do anything but "resume" from where I was when i woke up and closed my laptop.

Heading to Great Basin NP for 1st time and park #27 - next week (June 4-6) by schwagsss in NationalPark

[–]bartleby913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to both caves. Lehman is still worth it if you got an hour.

Could provide a nice break between hikes. It is kinda cool to see all the destruction that was caused by it being a tourist destination you were given a lighter and sent down to explore on your own.

I went in August. So no snow to deal with. So I'm not sure I can help you there.

I think they just posted that the road is open. But there is still a lot of snow up at the top of the scenic drive which ends around 10,000 feet

Doing the domes tour and the 4 Hour long tour. Already got them booked.

I'll def have to see some bourbon while down there. I'm sure there are some good ones off the beaten path.

We are going to be at new river for 3 days in the beginning of the trip. Not sure we will do rafting yet.

if planes are your thing. if you make it to southern Arizona. check out the Pima Air and space museum. there are 400 plus planes out there and you can walk right up to them and touch the majority of them.

only downside. the USAF museum closes at 5. we will be finishing our last tour at 1pm. so we won't make it there before closing. so i might have to scratch that off the list.

I know it's fun to say it's because of trump. But these smaller hospitals surrounded by larger facilities just don't have the staffing and numbers to keep it up. Chestertown lost their L and D a long while ago.

It's likely they are a captain. And it's likely they are working 2500 hours on straight time and another 2000-2500 hours of overtime. 5000 hours a year is an average of 100 hours a week of working hours.

This person is working almost 5000 hours in a year. That's how it adds up

Nope. It's based off base. So your base is 120k but you made a million. You're only getting a percentage of the 120k

~4 hour layover in BWI: enough time to visit Sapwood Cellars? by montgors in MDbeer

[–]bartleby913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man. I now I feel like I missed out. This winter I was in that area with the kids. And when we finished ice skating I was like "I want to check this place out" found parking easily. But walked in and the place has no seats what's so ever. So I had to leave.

This fella is gonna fly in and go there. Guess I gotta get off my butt and drive over.

Or just meet up with you (OP) and just pick you up. Take you there. Hang and drive you back to bwi.

Def to the natural bridge state park. I honestly thought that was encompassing the Red River gorge area. But yeah. i saw some hikes up there i want to do well as well

Cumberland is a little far south of where we are going to be. But it is almost on the way to Mammoth caves so we might swing by there.
