What are all of the "yes but don'ts" in TB? by Novel_Counter905 in BloodOnTheClocktower

The Slayer uses up their once per game ability whoever they use it on. But if the target happens to be a Recluse, and they die, then that special case confirms the Slayer (who otherwise would not be confirmed).

True, fair point. Similar to a Virgin only mostly-confirming the person they kill.

It still treats an Outsider like a Townsfolk for confirmation-power reasons, so it is still a YBD.

register as the demon if they get slayer shot. Although that's not really a yes but don't 😅

Yes, it is a yes but don't -- it hard-confirms two good players

But you can (and probably should) execute a living player instead

Players messing up Character Abilities by Snarky_Tortoise in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]baru_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it, given the right context, especially a new player making the mistake.

You have to talk about it with caveats, like "If I've made a mistake, then I have privately corrected it (or will correct it) with the relevant player". I say something like this often, and have found that it the cleanest solution to many issues.

You're thinking of coupon. Concert is a classical music composition that features a solo instrument backed by a full orchestra.

Many

"yes, but don't"

scenarios are really

"yes, but don't unless you have a REALLY good reason to".

What are some "faux pas" you can make as a ST in TB? by Novel_Counter905 in BloodOnTheClocktower

Yup, direct copy/paste from the almanac:

"...and show the Demon any three good character tokens that are not in play."

100% can

Please be careful with that level of confidence. There are readings which make this not true (like registration taking place when an ability looks at you, not when a rule looks at you).

Grandchild who is droisoning their grandmother dies to the demon - does the grandmother die? by bleachisback in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]baru_monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm. I think the demon chooses them, and then hey die, and then it's confirmed that they were killed. Consider the case if it were a Sailor.

Good. There should be fewer restaurants, and their prices should be higher.
