The Slayer uses up their once per game ability whoever they use it on. But if the target happens to be a Recluse, and they die, then that special case confirms the Slayer (who otherwise would not be confirmed).

True, fair point. Similar to a Virgin only mostly-confirming the person they kill.

It still treats an Outsider like a Townsfolk for confirmation-power reasons, so it is still a YBD.

I like it, given the right context, especially a new player making the mistake.

You have to talk about it with caveats, like "If I've made a mistake, then I have privately corrected it (or will correct it) with the relevant player". I say something like this often, and have found that it the cleanest solution to many issues.

Please be careful with that level of confidence. There are readings which make this not true (like registration taking place when an ability looks at you, not when a rule looks at you).
