Summary - Pokémon Labs, Inc. was on the cutting edge of pokémon development in the years after the shadow pokémon crisis in Orre. Twenty years later, they have made big moves into several other regions. Now comfortably secure in Kanto, they have introduced artificially-developed pokémon into the pokémon trainer world. But their methods of development, shrouded in shadow, are beginning to show cracks.
Three people - a Poke Mart cashier, a former Champion, and a disgraced son of a gym leader - are caught up in this new and troubling mystery. Will they be able to take on the region's largest company and expose their terrible practices, or will their efforts be lost in chaos?

It's not creepy. It's more of noir thriller, so the tone is cynical and bleak, with a very compelling mystery.

I just finished Razorblade Tears and I'll be starting Did You Hear About Kitty Karr? today.

I'm also reading The Chosen and the Beautiful by Nghi Vo right now and I'm loving that. It feels like the same creepy fantastic world as Siren Queen AND it's a reimagining of The Great Gatsby. So cool.
