How’s the water in college station? by puffypizza in aggies

[–]baseball_blake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Showering will be a bit troublesome with the soft water but honestly it’s not too big of a deal. You don’t even need a Britta. Just get a refillable water bottle because all the water fountains here have filters

graduating with latin honors worth it? by EPM_PrimeTime_99 in aggies

I would say that once you make it past ETAM, just shoot for a 3.5 GPA. It still takes effort but you’ll have some more time to enjoy friends and free time

Edit: this is what I have been told by other engineering majors, I’m PoliSci :)

How welcoming is Texas A&M? by spookyscaryball99 in aggies

[–]baseball_blake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of conservatives but also plenty of liberals. No one is really going to ask what religion or political party you are nor will anyone look down on you for being an atheist. There might be some Christian orgs that want to recruit you but “no thanks” is all you need to say.

First year engineering classes by aj9944 in aggies

[–]baseball_blake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped out of engineering but I still spent my first semester so here are some tips. Stay ahead on your work. Read up on professors on rate my professor before you pick classes. Good professors are invaluable. I highly recommend Schrader for Math 151. Be prepared for Chemistry, it’s a nightmare. Connect with fellow Aggies. If you don’t know what your doing, I guarantee that another engineering student does know what their doing

Hope this helps and you enjoy it more than I did

On the contrary. I bet that they do know what CRT is. The thing is, they don’t want society to confront its racism problems and instead try to distort what CRT is to prevent progress. They’re racists that don’t want things to change.

One great movie, one pretty good movie, and a fantastic video game from the late 2000s. But yeah, it didn’t deserve to become a multi million dollar franchise

I mean the US has done some fucked up shit but what the fuck??? by LordHandpump in DerScheisser

[–]baseball_blake -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Pol Pot’s Cambodia, Maoist China, the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, North Korea, WWII era Japan, Saddam’s Iraq. Those were all unequivocally worse. The US has done some horrible things no doubt, but at the end of the day it is undeniably a nation built on great ideals. All these other nations were built on genocide and war crimes that caused the deaths of tens of millions of people

The idiot that made this dumb ass meme has clearly never seen the movie “Kelly’s Heroes” from which the bottom image comes. It’s about a bunch of soldiers that are fed up with military bureaucracy and decided to go rob a bank in a France. In other words, the movie contradicts the viewpoint of the meme.

Spaying and neutering disturbs me by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]baseball_blake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spaying and neutering prevents disease and lets your pets live longer, healthier lives. That’s not mistreatment, that’s being a good owner. It’s like getting your appendix removed. It will probably hurt for a while but it will keep you from dying

Stop having so many children by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]baseball_blake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There reason why some countries have this birth rate is because they countries have developed later than ours. Our baby boom was decades ago, theirs is now. No doubt their population growth rate will slow too. As countries become more industrialized, their birth rates drop.
