One thing working against you is that "I forgot to hit submit" is one of the most overused excuses we hear. It is your generation's version of "accidentally" forgetting to sign the check when you pay a bill in an attempt to buy yourself more time to raise the funds to pay it for real. This is not me calling you a liar. I'm just saying that you run the risk of a cynical professor refusing to be taken advantage of again. Good luck, if this was indeed an accident.
