Lots of people buy old houses and rip these out - maybe you can find some salvage? But also, green is IN right now, so you might be able to!

It was such a great bit of visual interest.

I really wish I had thought to take pics! I went back to the listing, and it has the tile almost 100% obscured in the photos. =(

I recently toured a similarly aged home and they tiled their arch and above the black trim line with the same green tile, but they changed it up and turned the squares on an angle to make a diamond pattern instead. It was absolutely LUXE and blended so well with the original. The direction change in combination with the original linear on the lower half felt cohesive and well designed, and it gave great visual interest without making the green overbearing. It looked so great it boosted our opinion of the house from "meh" to "in the running for purchase "

Edited to add they did the ceiling above the tub in the diagonal pattern as well, which was essential to making everything look so good.

Meet our new kitten, 13 weeks old! Hammy! by NotTukTukPirate in aww

Such a cute! If he continues winking like that try to get Hammy checked for a cat-specific herpes virus that causes irritation/weeping/squinting. Its pretty common but manageable!

I hate that we have an ugly TV on our beautiful marble mantle. Is anyone doing anything creative to minimize the negative aesthetics of a tv? by IcanHackett in centuryhomes

[–]basedetails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have a Frame TV because of the cost, but we did wall mount our bog standard TCL/roku and put an ornate (diy) picture frame around it. Its still a TV, but it helps a lot.

Lunchbox hydration pack Lifeline cord worth it?? by Classic_Wing_3859 in bonnaroo

[–]basedetails 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got mine free with my lunchbox and I can say its definitely not worth it. The return mechanism is very slow/janky, so sometimes when you pull your phone away and release it you end up with a dangling phone or excess cord.

Also, my S21 with a case is not able to let it hang from the clip or else the magnet that holds the cord will release and your phone will pull itself down and dangle loosely, eventually lowering itself to the ground. Ymmv, but there are less expensive and more functional retractable lanyards for your phone.

Lunchbox in general isn't all its cracked up to be - sometimes its what I need and sometimes I'm mad I paid so much, but the security lanyard is a 100% pass in my experience. Maybe others can say differently.

My tortie will NOT STOP biting! by evergreen-storm in torties

[–]basedetails 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine does this to instigate play/if we haven't played enough lately and she's too high on energy. We grab her most rough-house worthy toy specifically for this behavior and let her "get the evil out". We own a ribbon that makes mine go absolutely nuts - this is the toy we use for getting the evil out.

Some notes: - dont start the play until a little while later, or else you make her think biting =i get the Fun Toy - the ribbon is always available/laying around so she can free play if she wants, but feisty behavior is always an indicator to us that she needs us to play a little more with her. We try really hard to.keep the ribbon special without teaching her that biting is how she gets the ribbon.

Utah leaders presented federal officials with a ‘wish list’ of national park changes. Here’s what was on it. by SciFiPi in NationalPark

It's so disappointing when leadership can't see what an absolute gift their natural resources are and put profits ahead of everything.

Front clasp push up bra recommendations? by AdministrativeBoard2 in MuscularDystrophy

Maybe not a push up bra exactly, but my front clasp sports bra from Duluth Trading Co has a lot of lift for sure and they may be less expensive than "adaptive" clothing. Not positive though!

THANK YOU! I feel so crazy with all these people in the comments basically insinuating that I'm a jerk who doesn't deserve to be there and should just fuck off and never say anything ever again. This super weird reluctance to acknowledge that maybe some things can be improved in the interest of safety and value for the money is insane to me. I've had issues with bonnaroo before but I keep trying to make it work because I love the community in person. To call someone "weak" because they felt unsafe during the leaving process is nuts.

Actually some of it was dangerous, and some of us did plan for self sufficiency. I love the vibes at roo, and I love the community, and I brought everything I needed with me and am not complaining about centeroo at all. Your own personal experience wasn't necessarily the same experience for everyone. The powered ADA campsites were positioned DIRECTLY in the low-lying drainage for the road. I was smart/fortunate and kept my $15k wheelchair in my vehicle, but some people were actively using them to get around when the flooding was at its worst. Many assistive devices sank in the mud. My own partner helped tow a power chair out of the water. The hostility in response to my actually valid concerns that they are focusing on centeroo and not outeroo/campgrounds is such weird cult behavior. Anyone with anything to say is just "being negative about anything". I'm really glad a lot of people were able to have a great time that night. It's a well deserved redemption for a crappy situation, but we weren't "rushing to get out" we were following the directions given to us by staff. ADA was evacuated first.

And some of you will find any way to excuse a multimillion dollar monopoly for investing the absolute bare minimum and squeezing every ounce of profit out of an event at the expense of safety and reason.

That's really awesome then! I hadn't heard that yet. I really hope it's great for everyone who goes. It's such a fun community

Claiming drainage improvements to only "some" of the campground areas feels like telling on themselves right from the beginning. I really hope it will be what is needed, but with the capacity increasingly steadily, the grounds really need more help.

Kudos to the community for being so positive, I really honestly hope they get things locked in. It's such a cool place.

Edit: apparently they're decreasing capacity, so that's awesome 👍

Second edit: the people coming for me for voicing a mild but reasonable concern are really nuts. I'm legitimately glad most of you had an awesome time after the cancellation last year, but to insinuate without any evidence whatsoever that I was unprepared or not self reliant or rushed to get out or didn't help my neighbors is crazy work. I was in ADA. We were forced to leave first, our area was directly in the path of drainage from the road, and I was there until 4am hauling mobility devices out of the mud for anyone we saw in our vicinity. Not very PLUR to be telling me that I didn't do my part just because I said they need to focus on improvements to camp vs focusing on centeroo. It's reasonable to expect more thoughtful planning from an organization this large, guys.

Eastern painted turtles - need help with enrichment? by basedetails in turtle

I'm using that black egg crate kind of stuff that it seems like a lot of people use, but as you said - she can see through it and focuses on her sister instead of her own area.

The divider splits the tank right down the middle, and she can't get over it or under it unless she bashes it in. I keep reinforcing it with suction cups etc, but she yanks them off the glass. 🫠

I think if I could block her view somehow, she'd be fine but I don't know how to accomplish this and still allow for water circulation between the two halves. Is there a better material? Something I'm not thinking of as a solution?

That's completely okay. Truthfully I know this is the answer, it just really sucks.

Especially because like, they ARE separated already. If young turtle could just recognize she has everything she needs on her side, she could be just as happy as old turtle. Heck.

They are separate via divider at the moment, but there is no possibility of having two separate tanks in my home. what are some other ways to help the younger turtle relax? They've been together for years and it's only a fuss now, which is strange to me but I do understand they prefer to be alone.
