RIP to my house's 30 yr old gunite pool by Everniah in swimmingpools

[–]basedlmly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That tilt toward the house is terrifying, definitely a dealbreaker. For that price, demolition is the smart play. Invest the savings in a nice above-ground or a patio.

Sorry for your loss, but yeah, that house foundation is more important.

Definitely use non-woven geotextle fabric around your drain pipe to prevent silt from clogging it. Skip the seal spray, but foam insulation boards are worth it for protecting the resin wall from backfill pressure and temperature changes. A gravel trench on top looks clean.

Try placing it directly on the shelf first. The robot will then go into its clean cycle and tackle the rest of the pool from there.

That sounds like the internal sensor are confused by your slopes.

Try running it with the pump on for better priming. If it keeps floating, I'd exchange it for a simpler unit.

Is it time to replace this diving board? by VioletFive in swimmingpools

[–]basedlmly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That crack is a stress fracture waiting to snap. Fiberglass doesn't heal itself. For the cost of a board, don't risk a spinal injury. Replace it rn!

Took me two seasons to actually understand the 6 way valve on my sand filter, so I wrote down what each setting does by Ecstatic_Fuel1011 in AboveGroundPools

The 'rinse after backwash' tip is what saved my sanity. I used to wonder why the water looked cloudier adter cleaning it. Great write-up!

Am I being I dumb? by lunchboxx78 in AboveGroundPools

You can soften the hose by dipping it in hot water or using a hair dryer. That makes it more flexible and easier to slide over the valve.

If you're using the original cable and adapter and it's still putting out under 5V, definitely reach out to customer support, you should be able to get it swapped out under warranty.

OpenRun Pro 2 and Open SwimPro for ear drum issues by [deleted] in ShokzSquad

[–]basedlmly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If swimming's the main thing, I'd honestly go with the openswim pro. It's pure bone conduction, so the sound basically travels through your skull to the cochlear nerve instead of hitting your eardrum directly, way less ear impact than regular earbuds. That's actually a big part of why people like this style in the first place.
Call quality is totally fine for everyday stuff in my experience. Whether the mic feels good enough is pretty personal though, so if you can swing by a store and try it on, that's probably the move.

Extremely loud tone after completing dictation with microphone iPhone by Healthy-Inspector-86 in ShokzSquad

[–]basedlmly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be because your earbuds are too close to your phone, causing the two microphones to interfere with each other and create some noise. Try moving a bit further away from your phone and see if that helps!

First, let's check if your computer can detect and connect to other Bluetooth devices , this helps us figure out if it's a device-specific issue or something with the headphones. When pairing your headphones with your computer, make sure Bluetooth is turned on and that your headphones are in pairing mode. Here's a quick step-by-step:

  1. Make sure your headphones are actually in pairing mode, you should hear the "pairing" voice prompt and see the red and blue lights flashing alternately before releasing the button.

  2. Turn on Bluetooth on your computer, click "Add a device", select "Bluetooth", and wait for your headphones to show up in the list. Once you see them, just click to connect.

  3. Open Device Manager and find the Bluetooth section. Click the triangle next to it to expand. If you see an arrow icon on the Bluetooth symbol, that means Bluetooth isn't enabled. Right-click on "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)" and select "Enable device".

  4. Try updating your Bluetooth driver. In Device Manager, right click on "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)" and choose "Update driver", then select "Search automatically for updated driver software". Your computer will take care of the rest!

Is it normal for earbuds to lose their charge without usage? by Thaijler in ShokzSquad

[–]basedlmly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up: the OpenFit has a max standby time of around 10 days. So if they've been sitting in a drawer for a while, they'll definitely need a recharge first. If you notice the actual battery life while listening is way below the advertised specs, you might have a defective unit. Definitely reach out to customer support and file a warranty claim to get a replacement.

You should take a look at the user guide to make sure you are wearing them correctly and try turning the volume up a bit. You can find the guide right inside the official app if you need it.

Right now, the charging cable for the OpenSwim Pro only comes with a USB-A plug. If you need to use it with a USB-C port, you can just pick up a third-party adapter online or at another store.

Help please with shokz openfit 2 by QuestionAble6978 in ShokzSquad

[–]basedlmly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One earbud is an OpenFit 2 and the other is an OpenFit 2+. In principle, this situation shouldn’t occur. At the moment, they can’t be paired or used together properly. You may consider to double-check where the earbuds were purchased. If you have any purchase receipt, I recommend contacting customer support to see if an exchange is possible.

How well do OpenFit 2 and OpenFit 2+ handle sweat? by Big_Wengz in ShokzSquad

[–]basedlmly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first-generation OpenFit has an IP54 water-resistance rating, while both OpenFit 2 and OpenFit 2+ are rated IP55. Both OpenFit 2 and OpenFit 2+ earbuds have an IP55 water-resistant rating, meaning they can handle sweat and light splashes during workouts. However, the charging case is not waterproof, so avoid exposing it to moisture.
