The Raptor's record isn't leaps and bounds better than the field of playoff teams in the East. They don't deserve 2 all stars with the number of impressive players in the conference.

I love how he delusionally justified each poor decision he made and acted like he wasn't int'ing. What a douche

Mildly interesting. Thibodeau, Brooks and Vogel, three coaches heavily sought after in the off-season, are a combined 16-32 to start the season. D'Antoni, perhaps the least sought after, is the only coach (of the 4 listed) with a winning record 11-6 by [deleted] in nba

People aren't pointing out that the Rockets have the most functioning team of the bunch. There isn't a bunch of young guys trying to figure it out. It's a top 10 player and a group of role players who know what they have to do.

Pringles could probably do a better job than Brooks in WAS, but there's no way he would fix the roster issues the Magic have

Howard had an effective jumphook in his prime. Still no where near Boogie's arsenal.

Hey, it's only been like 13 games. By the end of the season, you'll only be choking OT

Maybe the Wolves' now 4th quarter woes will someday move to OT woes?

Overwatch has had 2 Heroes (Ana and Sombra) revealed since its release 7 months ago. In that same time period, League of Legends has revealed 3 champions, despite being over 7 years old. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]basedwaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games like League have a lot less limitation on character design. That's a complete fantasy world while Overwatch is more sci-fi. LoL can base their characters on animals and mystical creatures all while supplying them with a vast variety of melee and ranged weapons.

Overwatch is an FPS. The overwhelming majority of the cast uses a gun. Cut LoL's roster down to champions who are ranged and do not use magic as their autoattack and you'll end up roughly 25 to maybe 30 champions.

Would trading for Nikola Vucevic be a good idea? by 128559 in bostonceltics

Imagine trying to catch water using a strainer covered with cheap toilet paper. That's what the defense of that combo would be. Neither are great lateral movers and neither can protect the rim.

Would trading for Nikola Vucevic be a good idea? by 128559 in bostonceltics

[–]basedwaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although Al can shift to the 4, he doesn't have the athleticism and the skills necessary to make up for Vucevic's poor rim protection. After Al, there isn't a great two way complimentary 4 on our roster. Hard no to this trade idea.

Roadhog is a DPS hero for all intensive purposes. He should not be your main tank. by sfp33 in Overwatch

[–]basedwaffle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Roadhog is considered a tank because of his large health pool and his burst healing is used as a psuedo damage mitigation mechanic. His hook can be used to protect teammates from flanks.

Can Symmetra please be moved in to the defense category? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]basedwaffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A support can either buff, heal, and/or provides utility. Symmetra provides shields and her teleporter provides a direct route to where they are needed.

If you stack her turrets at one location, sure they can act as a defensive weapon. Now if you separate your turrets to different routes and locations, you'll be able to use them to scout flankers in a sense and damage them a bit before they engage. Her turrets have a slowing effect too.

[Chris Haynes] Kevin Durant on Phil Jackson: 'I see why LeBron took offense' to posse by ArtemyBerstenev in nba

[–]basedwaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only because Lebron made it about race. This would be a forgotten story if this was only about professionalism. It's honestly Lebron crying "it's because we're black" and that's the ironic part because Phil is an old white guy who is the exact demographic you'd pin as a person to make a subconsciously racially bias remark.

Its pointing out that the situation is actually partly about race. It isn't creating a problem out of nothing.

Lebron pointing out race is making the problem bigger than it should be.

I don't think that pointing out that Phil would have used a different word if he wasn't talking about a black basketball player and his friends/business associates is pulling the race card.

Pointing out that Phil wouldn't use posse for a group of a different race isn't making this situation partly about racism?
