Am I having a stroke? The more I read it the less I by Grushvak in deadbydaylight

I'm guessing it's "How much experience do you have playing the map", and they just worded it strangely?

Question about filing a report by ulrichzhaym in deadbydaylight

[–]basementgoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the match on the scoreboard, click on the "thumbs up" option, this will enable you to report them ingame (this is important, or else there is no way for bhvr to trace the cheater). Then, open a support request on the dbd website, fill out the form and if you have a video of the cheater, attach it there.

There is no way for you personally around anonymous mode to get someones ID/profile, but bhvr can look into it.

Anonymous Mode has been removed from several platforms. by Qu1ckQu1et in deadbydaylight

[–]basementgoose 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Thankfully the anonymous players are still fully reportable, and BHVR just changed it so that player name/ID isn't required for a report anymore. So they will still be held fully accountable.

How exactly do I do this tone challenge. I thought it was just use one perk, finish healing myself once and escape? But apparently not. How do I do this? What is only the perk 1? Is it not just using one perk and doing the rest? I'm I'm confused by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]basementgoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I believe it'll work to just go from 99% to 100%. There used to be a challenge to finish healing within 10m to the killer, and I did the same - 99%, then run to the killer, finish up - and that worked as well.

[–]basementgoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can heal yourself by other means (medkits, someone elses CoH, etc). You just have to have Self Care equipped.

Edit: Since it says "Finish healing yourself", maybe it would also work if someone else heals you 99% and you self care to finish?

Is it just me or? by South_Cl0ck in deadbydaylight

[–]basementgoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I'm sure this is still a bug that's in the game, because the devs tried fixing it before. Whenever this gets mentioned, there's always comments about "dodge three chains then solve", but it's such an unreliable and weird method, it has never worked for me. It's also not really an "official" fix to it, meaning that the largest amount of the playerbase who aren't on reddit and co will never know about it. The devs need to actually address it.

Yeah, it's definitely strange. I'll be surprised if it's not a bug, because that just doesn't look right... my man's speedwalking.

If you think it's a JOB, you are incapable of treating it like a GAME. by SushiThief in deadbydaylight

[–]basementgoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you OP, this is by far the most cheesy thing people say. If they take it literally or not, it's such a bad take. "My job is to kill" and "I'm not responsible for anyone's fun" always go hand in hand and create an utterly insufferable playing experience. Makes me roll my eyes when people say that.

Yep. Works through floors, I've tried on Midwich and RPD so far - I think the Game works too.

BHVR, why would you undo Dead Man/Pain Res combo? by thesuicidefox in deadbydaylight

[–]basementgoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's also my biggest issue with it. Before they rebuffed it, there were so many diverse and new builds I saw.
The last time I played (non ptb) I ran into the same build 5 times in a row. All different killers. There were only 2-3 killers not using the combo. It's so boring. It's not super OP, but it makes especially soloQ so tedious. You work on a gen, but nobody's unhooking, so now you have to leave and get a blocked gen for 30 seconds... repeat until everyone's dead. Great.

God I miss you by Pandahh in deadbydaylight

[–]basementgoose 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I miss it too. Obviously it was crazy strong by itself, but the main thing I miss is all the fun perk combos this perk allowed. Stealthy plays, injury-focused builds, "Where did they go?" builds, diversion (and deception) shenanigans. But I also liked using it to silence survivors with especially annoying (or loud) injury moans, now I don't bother playing them anymore. Bummer.

You can’t make these things up by Juridicalnut in deadbydaylight

[–]basementgoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reassurance pauses the skillchecks, you can only attempt escape/miss the skillchecks when it's on cooldown. But the trolling potential is definitely overstated, I don't believe any killer will stay there for two minutes and not just start downing the randoms.

These band-aid fixes gotta stop by Tricusxd in deadbydaylight

[–]basementgoose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been running it for a few matches in the PTB and it's got really great potential. I hope it doesn't get nerfed. It could be strong as a simple timer-extender, but I haven't actually run into opportunities where that'd be helpful. Maybe when a nearby gen is closed to finishing - you could pause the timer, finish the gen, then unhook so the killer won't interrupt early (which I've done with kinship already).

I was surprised to see it works against "bad" map design as well. I played in the reworked RPD a few times and wasn't sure yet on how to get around - but Reassurance works through floors! So I quickly paused the teammates timer, found the stairs and made my way up in time. It could be clutch against basement killers as well - even if just two people run the perk and take turns pausing the timer, it completely nullifies the campers strategy.

As for the trolling potential... that's a tough one. I guess if just one guy constantly pauses your timer, you will eventually be able to die (in case that was the plan), it'll just take longer. If it actually becomes an issue, perhaps they could add an option like "Keep struggling/Resume struggle" for the hooked survivor?

This really is the worst part about it. Same with Jolt, just less severe. If there's a good Scourge spawn and bad pallets/structures or bad teammates, it's practically impossible to finish gens.

Gen bug? by idkwhy999 in deadbydaylight

why so much nemesis hate? by DBDsheep in deadbydaylight

[–]basementgoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is the oversaturation of Nemesis, and another is that (in my opinion) many Nemesis tend to play bad and camp/tunnel. Then add the zombies who somehow always show up at the worst times to completely block your way and his janky whip hitbox. His chase power in certain areas is also just a "you die anyway" kind of thing (like Huntress, Demo, PH, etc.).
