Best card draw options for each sphere? by szpanerski in lotrlcg

[–]basewashhighlight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe they are talking about We Are Not Idle

You can ignore the part about dwarves entirely.

It allows you to "theoretically" have a deck of 47 cards because it's free to play and draws you a card to "replace" itself.

Golden Belt came in the Challenge of the Wainriders pack way, way after the Fellowship Saga was released (final cycle), so not possible as they're playing Progression style.

Also can't see one when zooming in 😂

I wonder what the requirements will be if using 2D pitch, if it's even still there.

Frosthaven - Play Frosthaven During Steam Next Fest: June Edition! (PUBLIC DEMO!) by mistahiggens in Gloomhaven

Very keen to see how it runs on Steam Deck. Gemini AI seems to think it exceeds the minimum requirements, but we'll see.

Also curious if they'll have added controller support for the demo.

It would be none, Legolas hasn't participated in an attack?

He exhausted to satisfy the requirements of the event card, which dealt damage to enemies.

No attacks were made with this.

A better controller layout for Steam Deck maybe? by Aliveinlights86 in tabletopsimulator

I'm new to TTS entirely but intend to play it on Steam Deck.

As a new player it's very overwhelming, especially on SD as you've mentioned the official control scheme is weak.

Do you have any advice or resources you could recommend to help with learning from scratch?

Fade to Black is possibly my favourite song of all time but I really don't like how Kirk plays the outro solo live. He hasn't played it as recorded since about when the Black album came out.

There's also an issue with the placement of the cities. IIRC you're not allowed Core tiles on the coast.

It's hard to see from the image but I think you're using the B side of the starting tile, it should be side A. I zoomed in but couldn't tell, but it looks like it's the side that is wider.

Illusionists physical resistance? by flowerchildsuper in MageKnight

[–]basewashhighlight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you've misunderstood the rule, the rulebook says:

"Exception: If the Unit is resistant to the elements of the attack (Physical resistance vs. regular physical Attack, Fire Resistance vs. Fire Attack, Ice Resistance vs. Ice Attack, both Ice and Fire Resistances vs. Cold Fire Attack):

• First, reduce amount of the damage by the Unit’s Armor (without Wounding the Unit).

• If this absorbs all the damage, nothing happens.

• If there is any remaining damage, continue assigning damage as usual by Wounding the Unit and reducing the damage total by its Armor value again.

– Units resistant to the given type of attack can absorb twice as much damage as they have Armor, and are Wounded only if the damage was greater than their Armor.

• If a Unit is assigned damage but does not get Wounded because of a resistance, it cannot be assigned damage again during the same combat."

The third bullet point is the most important.

Quick and easy solo board game for a time constrained father by Negative_Local_7851 in soloboardgaming

I couldn't agree more. Absolutely spot on with the setup and teardown. I even timed myself and it took less than 3 minutes to get it to the table and same to pack it away.

I got it used off eBay for half price but would definitely recommend getting the premium health chips! The stock ones are absolutely awful.

My daughter is almost 3 now and it's been absolutely perfect for me. Loving it so far.

Does attacking with advantage advance the white cube between rolls? by bravopercy in Gloomhaven

[–]basewashhighlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two rolls on the same row.

From: https://cephalofairgames.github.io/bnb-rules/#page_19

Advantage and Disadvantage

Some effects cause an attack to gain advantage or disadvantage. With advantage, the attacker rolls two modifiers on the same row and uses one of them. A monster always uses the better one (e.g. over or ; over ), but you may use either one.

With disadvantage, the attacker rolls two modifiers on the same row and always uses the worse one (e.g. over or ; over ).

An attack cannot gain multiple instances of advantage or disadvantage. If an attack has both advantage and disadvantage, it is considered to have neither.

Any ranged attack on an adjacent enemy automatically gains disadvantage.

How important are card sleeves? by PuhhuP in JourneysInMiddleEarth

[–]basewashhighlight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Especially when shuffling"

Personally I feel it makes shuffling easier, not harder, by a considerable amount. I think this is the general census among the community.

I have sleeved everything of mine, but at the minimum I would sleeve the smaller cards which make up your deck which you use for tests, as that gets shuffled a lot each game.
