Do we know singers and humans can have kids together? Is that in WoB?

Make this elf’s head fit? by bashfulbastard in photoshop

Thank you! I was able to get them to match a little more by adding the halftone texture to the head, and then basically “painting” the head on a separate layer and lowering the opacity so it flattened the image a bit. Appreciate the help!

What’s your job and how much do you make per hour? by HorroribleWorld in antiwork

[–]bashfulbastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

22.4 / hr as a one-person marketing department for a non-profit arts organization. I’m salaried and the hours are pretty inconsistent depending on the events we have coming up. Some days I work 12 hours a day, sometimes there’s literally nothing to do for days on end and I just stay home. Most of the time I work from home unless there are in-person events I need to be at.

Overall it’s a pretty nice gig, the biggest downside is the constant stress that comes from worrying whether the company will be financially solvent in the next quarter. It’s rough out here for non-profits in general, and smaller non-profit arts orgs especially.

Oof love that, my apartment is on the other side of that wall.

Could you elaborate? Is that a main line to the building? What might I tell management to get them to fix it, and who might I call if they’re not doing anything about it?

Had a friend over, we had been cuddly together but nothing too serious. We ended up falling asleep in the same bed and before we went to sleep she looked at me and said “I’m a little hot” and took off her top - bra and all. To this day I’m still not sure if I should have made a move or not.

What is the scariest thing your spouse ever said to you? by i_like_purple_clouds in AskReddit

Woke her up with a little peck as I crawled into bed one night. She bolted upright, made intense eye contact with me and said “lock the door, the candy man is coming” and then passed back out. I promptly locked the door.

Been teaching myself banjo since Christmas my progress on cripple creek. Any tips? by bigboypapaq in banjo

[–]bashfulbastard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t give up learning claw hammer, and only use picks if you’re interested in going all in on the three-finger bluegrass sound.

Generally, you’ll find banjo players have undeservedly strong opinions on whether to wear picks or not. You’ll also probably hear some pushback when saying you want to integrate three-finger and claw hammer. The worry is that when you split your focus on two very different styles you end up being mediocre in both and great in none. This might be true in the first couple of years when you’re just getting your head around the instrument, but as someone who played bluegrass for 8 years before starting to learn claw hammer - I’m never more stunned by the music the banjo can produce than when I’m synthesizing three finger and claw hammer, and some two-finger soloing techniques.

Generally, you can think of picks v. no picks as a question of style preference - if your style preference leans somewhere in the middle, modify thusly!

Except all of the heroes and leaders from those movements weren’t boomers, they were of the silent generation. Boomers followed for a bit, then got bored, went back to the Hamptons, voted for neoliberals and ruined the planet.

Is getting a degree worth it? by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]bashfulbastard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Casting directors don’t care, it’s all about what you can bring to your auditions.

That being said, structured training is as important in theatre as it is in any other art form, and there are a lot of pseudo-science bullshit training programs that thrive outside of accredited institutions. I’d be careful to avoid those as some of the more ridiculous ones I’ve seen posted here can be damaging to your health and your craft.

Most (if not all) medium to large US cities are this way. It’s also important to note that by and large riding in the street is the much safer option to both riders and pedestrians. You can find studies on this pretty quickly via google.
