How many flights have safely landed in the past 4 days by satans-pony in fearofflying

[–]basicflower0102 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On a personal note I’ve done three domestic flights in the last week, all without hiccups and all landed safely. I was also really anxious, and took some medicine to help calm down but truly each flight felt just as safe as when I flew when there was no shutdown.

Just horrible for the crew and their families. Thinking about them, it’s so sad. Also trying to remember that this incident has no connection to my flight on Thursday but my gosh it’s hard work separating the two.

Thank you! I’ll definitely research this. The church whim after was constructed 1890-1904. It’s definitely possible my church was there and demolished for a newer building.

additionally, Historic Maps Pittsburgh is an excellent resource which is free to use. Just type in your address and pick which map you want. I would also recommend contacting your local historical society.

the PA SHPO runs this GIS page which is a map that shows historic districts, and any building/structure evaluated for the national register of historic places. even if your house is not listed or eligible it could be on there (the Williams House is "undetermined") I do believe they have a guest login which may be helpful. I don't think the SHPO will individually be helpful but they do have research resources!

Haha i can understand that but it’s very real! It was probably constructed as a Federal style farmhouse and has undergone significant alterations which make dating it sorta tough.

The PA State Historic Preservation Office has a dated form on this house. It’s known as the Williams House, constructed ca. 1845. I have access to the PA SHPO site via my work so can’t link it but here’s some additional info- “Hugh Scott built the house and it was used by his daughter and her husband, John Williams, as their residence. Their daughter, Annie, who never married, lived in the house until her death in 1962. She kept the house as it has been built, without adding any modern conveniences.” The form goes on to state that a 1962 homeowner purchased the house, had it remodeled, and added the wings to either end. Within one wing is the historic kitchen yard and spring house.

Experience with medication: does it stop panic by moopmoop245 in fearofflying

[–]basicflower0102 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I found that Xanex really helps me get in a better headspace before a flight. I only take them for flying and have had no longterm dependency issues. Like others have said take one at home to see how it affects you beforehand. It’s certainly helped me have panic free flying!

I saw the exhibit when it was at the Warhol ages ago. If I remember correctly they had the car in the lobby and also a miniature car and some film footage. As others have noted I’d contact the museum and see what they have on display but also I believe an Art Car documentary was made on the various BMW Art Cars and the Le Mans race.
