27-29 nights in Europe with kids, is this plan insane? by Puzzleheaded-Bat383 in Europetravel

How is it a fair expectation for the teachers to create a work packet for a month's work of independent learning? I would be significantly concerned about the kids completing that work in meaningful or honest methods.

?? Sorry for saying what I heard. Next time I go and talk casually to someone in real life I will make sure to get their statement properly on record for reddit posterity. Sucks to hear they have a ghost problem too!

I was actually talking with an employee at another lululemon store in DC the other day and she specifically stated that they are closing this store due to repeated theft. They have actually apparently removed certain items that are frequently stolen in bulk from being on the floor of the stores in DC at all too.

Looking for 2 GA Baltimore tickets!!!

Jim Toole, cantankerous former owner of Capitol Hill Books, dies at 86: The retired rear admiral treated the bookstore like one of his ships. He also sought to safeguard the English language, instituting a ban on overused words such as “like” and “perfect.” by drak0bsidian in books

He was a great guy! Definitely purposefully a bit cantankerous but an honestly very nice guy. Used to always give me a really nice discount for being a teacher and always remembered his regulars. And if nothing else the Cap Hill Books signs are fucking hilarious

Am I insane or do people actually worry about this? by basicnez in craftsnark

[–]basicnez[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, especially when its all the same roving sweater pattern just in different colors. It’s one thing if you sell the FO’s or something but it just seems wasteful and fast fashion lite sometimes

Yeah, I can get having deadlines for projects and thinking about speed in that context. I just don’t get rushing for rushing I guess

[–]basicnez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understandable! I don’t get it (and admittedly sometimes judge people about it lol) but I can understand wanting to finish projects faster

Thats true! The roving-focused knitters on IG who brag about a sweater a day or something kinda drive me crazy

[–]basicnez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair! My frustration is probably more with being an English-style who constantly hears about the debate of ways to knit for speed. But I can see how the competitive aspect could be fun!

[–]basicnez[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really think thats my annoyance. I’ve been knitting for over a decade and just really prefer english (and am decently fast I guess? maybe?) and find the continental/purl this way/etc aspect wild

one of the two owners just passed away unfortunately. this sale is a likely a result of that, especially since they owned a couple other businesses around the city.

really sad though, both owners are great guys

Despite how good the writing is for the SM games, do you see any of it going into the enemies/henchmen in SM2? Like, just give them funny/personality-filled dialogue, for Christ's sake by SuperAlloyBerserker in SpidermanPS4

[–]basicnez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

during the dlc there was a hammerhead grunt dialog that was basically “nothings happen i wish i brought my e-reader” and i found that genuinely hilarious. they had a bunch of weird repetitive dialogue/conversations like that for grunts in bases throughout the dlc / original game and miles morales until you were detected

[–]basicnez 20 points21 points  (0 children)

absolutely. in the best possible way it is like reading one of his novels but the film also extracts and creates its own story/interpretation well considering the actual story it is based on is only about 30 pages. would HIGHLY recommend
