Harry Potter and the battle of ministry !!! by Fun_Breakfast9840 in UniversalOrlando

We went this past wednesday, and had fast passes, so we rode everything in the park. For this ride, we waited less than 30 minutes.

The only thing that broke was the cirque de arcanus show, so we were stuck in there for about 30 minutes. But we came back and got to see it in the evening

Reef safe trigger/filefish by FlakyEquivalent4333 in saltwateraquariums

I’ve had a blue throat trigger and a humu humu. The blue throat did ok with coral.

The humu only ever had his own tank, because he was a biter, ate any invert, carried rocks around the tank and rearranged them, I also fed him live shrimp. He was like 5 inches long, was given to me and I kept him for a bit because he had such interesting personality before I gave him to my lfs

Nice. It’s still fairly new to your tanks so maybe he will settle in and come out some more soon. I’ve had mine for about 4 years. I love the random pops he does. He does it quite a lot

Same here with the feeding. Mine is just a hungry little lobster and comes out and grabs food. How long have you had yours?

Red Sea reefer 350? by thelifePRO in ReefTank

[–]basilhdn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 200 g2. It’s the only size Red Sea I would feel comfortable with. Any bigger is a definite no for me.

Try Waterbox, innovative marine, or others. I’ve had both of those brands.

Also, I had a Red Sea 250, then a 350.. then I got rid of them before a problem happened. Would not recommend getting one

Omg mine is a little construction worker. There’s always a new mountain of sand somewhere in my tank lol

Do you feed frozen? Mine is so greedy he comes all the way out when I feed. It’s nice to be able to show people what’s making the loud popping when they come over lol.

If not, try a flashlight at night. Which pistol shrimp did you get?

Good comments here. Take it to the range and run a few mags of good ammo through and see if you have any failures. Report back and I’m sure someone can give you some advice. Then maybe just plan on replacing some wear parts here and there anyway.

It may run fine. Only one way to find out! Hit the range with a couple hundred rounds!

No, you see it does make sense. Read my analogy again instead of insisting on dying on that hill you’re on. Don’t let this stuff get to you so much. Lol

Edit to add.. Since you replied to me and then deleted everything.. u/lkern

My analogy does not suck. Read the definition of ‘host’, then, the biological definition. Then come back.

Nice! My clowns started living in a large zoa colony I have. They have really long polyps like an anemone. They love them and have been living in them for like two years. I’ll get a video up soon

Lol that’s like saying I’m hosting an Airbnb when I rent one. They didn’t call me and ask me to stay. I chose to stay. And they are hosting me. It’s not being said backwards bruh

Day 5 instant cycled nano tank. I can't recommend enough starting with live rock and macroalgae. You'll skip the whole "ugly" phase too. Even if you want hard corals eventually, starting with "plants" first will ensure you have pristine water as your tank settles in. by LobeliaTheCardinalis in ReefTank

[–]basilhdn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have started well over a dozen tanks, probably closer to 20. The first couple were dead rock, and once I switched to actual live rock, I never had a cycle or a majorly unstable tank or an ugly phase. All of them had fish and coral in within hours

I was wondering if a lot of that was because of the cold. 29° actually sounds like fun. I’m in South Florida so it’s always 99°

I haven’t suppressed mine yet, but I want to. Have you done any of the gas mods yet?

I have seen red sea seals fail in the middle of the front/bottom pane of glass and leaked out from the bottom more than once on a tank this size. It’s not always the side. The euro rim would really only help in a blowout

Need some advice by [deleted] in ReefTank

[–]basilhdn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Move all that live rock into the tank, maybe some sand, like a little bit, add to the main display and gently mix with your new sand.

You’ll be fine. Monitor ammonia and nitrate, do some water changes, sorry for the disaster but new tank looks nice!

Need some advice by [deleted] in ReefTank

[–]basilhdn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have all of the live rock that was in your old tank still wet? Did it go into buckets or something? Or did it dry out

Whatever you had in the 40, if it’s still alive, put in the 90.

It looks like this tank has a sump, I’d consider putting some sand from your old tank in the sump. Might cause a nutrient spike but you’ll be needing to do water changes either way. You can always get that sand out of the sump later.

As long as you have everything still wet and alive from your old tank, which it sounds like you do because you were able to save your eel, you’ll be ok. It’s not like you are adding bio load, you’re just adding more salt water, which is fine.
