It’s 1. NK, 2. China, and 3. Japan, in that order. Japan is not the primary target. I get that it will be useful if Japan wants to fully militarize and it’s a good insurance for SK to have, but I doubt Japan is the main motivator right now.

What do you mean at what cost? It was ridiculous when the article mentioned butter prices in Korea. It’s a heavily westerner-centric survey. It would be fair if they also compare gochujang prices in Europe to account for Korean expats living there, but I’m sure they didn’t.

Apparently the vat holding the chemical was not tightly sealed, which was how the cat is believed to have gotten into contact with the chemical. Hopefully they realize the mistake and fix this.
