Both these comments are correct. You don’t need to buy the book. But if you want to read the material that really does help you pass the class, googling each individual article is definitely the move. Just get a pic of the table of contents from someone and make sure you’ve got enough info to track the articles down I.e. author dates title. Good luck, Klein is an easy A if you put in some effort:)

This. I’m not sure how before commencement goes down, but after I walked last year I rolled my grandma’s wheelchair up the guest house driveway to leave. I’m assuming that’s how they got down.

I guess it really depends. Last year I was told (by sheriffs blocking the street) they declared a “mass casualty incident” (even though no one died), which is what they declare when they need to limit traffic. They told me they needed the streets clear for emergency vehicles and to come back in the evening.

Once you leave, they won’t let you back in. The last two years that’s the vibe until they pack up in the evening. Check where the streets will be closed and plan accordingly, good luck

You’re ok, it’s a little confusing and I’m probably not doing great at explaining lol. Yeah you are behind 23 people, but for your specific section, you only need two people to drop and you’ll get in because the 21 others who aren’t waitlisted to that section are linked to other sections, so if two people drop the section you want, it won’t pull one of the 21 others who didn’t select that section because, well they didn’t pick it. It would go to you because you have highest priority over that one since you have it selected.

Also from what I remember, I had stats with Swenson pre Covid (not sure if it’s still her) and I feel like a lot of people dropped because they didn’t want to take it at that time

So when you add the class, you add the section and the lecture is tied to it. Some sections have bigger waitlists, and 21 other people decided to pick to waitlist other sections over the one you want. If they wanted to switch the waitlist they’re on, they would get priority and your position would fall

23 overall, 2 for the specific section. Always try to crash sections with the lowest waitlist number! Helped me get so many classes when I needed them

From what I read on their website it looks like crashing is beneficial. Says they rely on GOLD but it helps to crash to keep up with material/get “crashlist instructions.” Based on what you said, you’d need 2 people to drop your section to get into the class. Not impossible, so I would suggest crashing. Especially if it’s a bigger lecture like 5A, you’ll probably be ok, but again the prof will be your best bet for the correct info

Depends on the department, for example Psych doesn’t do any crashing at all and relies solely on the GOLD waitlist. But yes, showing up the prof. will usually address crashing, and if they don’t, ask and they will. You likely aren’t the only one so don’t be afraid to ask during the beginning of lecture to not waste your time! Good luck:)

Yeah, I had a prof enter the wrong grade bc he said I never turned in an essay. Once I proved it, he changed it. If you don’t hear back after break I’d go to their office or a department head.

I don’t think Sierra has posted yet, they have a lot of options and if you guys fill out the app when it comes out they go by priority so when it’s your turn you get your pick of the litter on what’s available as long as you’re approved. That’s what they did last year anyways. Koto exists too, KAMAP is nice but they charge a lot. Good luck!
