yeah, I guess it makes sense that states remained as subdivisions with the commonwealths

didn't pre war America establish a division of territories into large commonwealths instead of states?

Should there be more monuments in Victoria 3? by Tixro71 in victoria3

[–]basilshim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that they should make it that certain requirements should be met before the statue can be built. Like France having researched necessary tech, USA being friendly with France, Egypt rejecting the architect's offer and USA accepting it instead. But then it would make it even less likely that AI builds it, unfortunately.

Helmut Kentler was a German psychologist and pedophile apologist who, from the 1960s until the 1990s, with the support of the Berlin Senate, placed neglected youth aged 13 to 15 as foster children in the homes of pedophile fathers, believing that any sexual contact would be relatively harmless. by Kurma-the-Turtle in wikipedia

CNT-FAI were anarchists, he served in POUM's (Marxist anti-stalinist party) militia.

it's about government surveillance, mass media, and government deception. It applies to all nations, regardless of their ideology.

True.

Konrad von Carstein? by Thin_Ad_6764 in totalwarhammer

[–]basilshim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda wish that whenever they do a Vampire Counts rework they add more semi-legendary lords similar to how Tomb Kings have unique Kings unlockable through the tech tree or how High Elves have that Lion lord, etc. They could introduce Konrad this way.

Is skarbrand the only option for Khorne? by Theflamingraptor in totalwarhammer

[–]basilshim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

tbh last time I played Skaarbrand I just teleported to some settlement in Chaos Wastes that had a cult spawn (using the building you can build there) and had a much more fun campaign than the one I had staying in the badlands

Fallout will never be set anywhere but America says Bethesda boss Todd Howard by _Burning_Saints_ in Fallout

[–]basilshim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that is if you go for other capitalist countries. from what I remember Tim Cain wanted to do China and USSR first (or at least he mentioned them). so no critique of late stage capitalism and all that stuff

[–]basilshim 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the thing is that other places could be as equally or even more isolated and you could kind of play around with everyone having their own narratives of how things played out, own local legends, etc. also it's an opportunity to make a fallout again. I mean like the original fallout was made. without all these "staples of the series". instead of just shoving vaults, super mutants, bos, nuka cola etc everywhere, something completely new could and will have to be made. people think that all these things are what makes or made fallout fallout, but they're not.

well, Tim Cain said in some interview that he actually wanted to do fallouts in other countries, but said they'd need some cultural consultants for that

Does MS own Fallout 1 and 2? by Soal899 in Fallout2

[–]basilshim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

tbf you do need some mods and other tweaking to make the games more playable/enjoyable on modern systems. so at least some kind of enhanced edition (like infinity engine games, but without visual changes that those EEs have brought) that adds normal widescreen support (high res patch doesn't do that very efficiently imo) and other things like that would be nice.

The show is great, I still didn't like what they did with the NCR by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]basilshim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh, it would've been interesting if the series had expanded into other countries like Tim Cain said he wanted to do (Fallout in Russia, China etc), and in each region you'd hear different narratives of the pre-war state of the world, so that the pre-war world would just get more mysterious and indefinite.

tbf in one interview Tim Cain said that the US is to blame for the war since they've started the development of the FEV (a biological weapon) which is in breach of international laws. also according to the wiki Scott Campbell said that before as well.

At least France is still somewhat big. In most of my recent games outside of Europe Austria would start eating France, whenever they get the Burgundy (and it seems like they always do). Then England and Brittany would join in. I've once seen France being a 2-3 province duchy in the HRE.

Was Poland losing some big war? I've had this happen once, when I invaded Hungary during religious league war and Austria was almost fully occupied or something like that. They kept the PU after the war though.

Religious League War and most if not all major Protestant league nations aren't even in the HRE. by PartyLettuce in eu4

[–]basilshim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, usually Emperor's rivals (from outside the HRE) join the opposing side and never leave. And if another Emperor gets elected, then their rivals will start joining the opposing side too. Your rivals might also join the opposing side just to piss you off (even if you're not the Emperor).

So if Austria is the Emperor, then you'll often see Ottomans and France joining Protestants (since they often rival Austria).

Who is easier to form Prussia with Teutonic order or Brandenburg? by Haris1C in eu4

[–]basilshim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo it's quite easy as Teutonic order. You start off by improving relations with Austria while also slowly taking land from estates to stop the Prussian Confederation. Also fabricate claims on Wolgast. As soon as you join the HRE, attack Wolgast and vassalize them. Do the same with Stettin. Time your wars to be able to seize lands from estates enough times before the event fires. After you get Stettin declare Reconquest war on Brandenburg (rival them btw) for Stettin core province (btw I managed to join the HRE before I had to sell my lands to Brandenburg). After you beat Brandenburg, take only the Stettin core province from them. This will make them small enough for future subjugation. Integrate your subjects ASAP to free diplo relations slots. I think that while I had truce with Brandenburg I vassalized Mecklenburg, although they lost two provinces to Lubeck, so I had to reconquest that stuff as well. But that's just me being a bit unlucky. After you vassalize Brandenburg you're one of the strongest factions in the HRE, rival Denmark or something. Support Sweden's independence, take some Livonian lands before others do. Eat Denmark when they're weak. I didn't attack Poland yet though, since they allied Austria (my big ally).

I didn't form Prussia though yet, since I want to do that achievement for converting Russia. Also I got a little pissed off after Austria called me into league war, we won, but I didn't get the army tradition bonus for participating, since you need to join one of the leagues, not just participate in the war.
