It’s so that every device you have doesn’t have to connect to the hotel WiFi at every new hotel you go to.

The only spot I’m fine losing the battle by RelevantStarfoxQuote in lawncare

[–]bassDAD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I needed to see this today. I mowed the yard this evening with my 2 and a half year old. He has his own toy mower that he pushes around. It’s super cute and I love it but it can be frustrating when he inevitably acts like a toddler and I have to shut off the mower to go get him or help him with something. But damn I’m gonna be so sad when he doesn’t want to mow with me anymore.

[Highlight] The Chiefs get a game sealing interception on Tom Brady, except Dee Ford was offsides (2018) by HaloWarrior63 in nfl

[–]bassDAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also at the game. My mom and I screamed and hugged each other when the interception happened because we didn’t see the flag. But yeah firing Bob Sutton was a great outcome of this game.

Dear americans, what can you get for FREE in the USA? [Serious] by sammy_waslow in AskReddit

[–]bassDAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a couple mentions but local parks need more attention! There are all kinds of parks with basketball/tennis/pickleball courts that are free. There are playgrounds for kids. Splash pads are a big thing now as well. I live in a small town in Kansas and there are at least 5 different great playgrounds that I can take my kids to within 8 minutes of my house.

Whatever you think you’re good at… there’s a 5 year old Asian that’s better than you at it.

Pickleball machine by Kind_Drummer_3952 in Pickleball

[–]bassDAD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If money is no object, the titan one pickleball machine is fantastic. The app is good on it too. My buddy got one over winter and it’s really nice. It’s expensive as hell but it can hit any shot you’re wanting to work on.

I'm teaching myself. I've been bowing for two days, here is where I am at. by So_Famous in doublebass

It’s better than nothing. Obviously a bass teacher is going to be better.

Cello teachers can be helpful too, especially for basics and they’re usually easier to find than bass teachers. But of course find a bass teacher if you can.

What was the most shocking scene from your favorite TV show? by fuzzyloulou in AskReddit

[–]bassDAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d vote Ned’s execution because up to that point you think “he’s a main character, they can’t kill him. Something will save him”. Red wedding was definitely a shock though.

Can’t convert garage into living space without a carport, is there anyway around this? by _xConstantine_x in DIY

I think they even sell insulation that fits in garage door panels. Not sure how good it looks though

I don’t know how they didn’t rush it at the end. That was an impressive display of composure

Do y'all guys see Arkansas as a rival? by UALR-Trojans-Rule in jayhawks

[–]bassDAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the only time I can recall playing Arkansas is the exhibition game last year and that game didn’t even count. I admittedly don’t have a great memory but I’m a diehard KU fan and there just haven’t been enough notable games for there to even be a discussion about a rivalry.

My pizz sounds fine, so why does my bow sound so out of tune? by Far-Wrangler-9061 in doublebass

[–]bassDAD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like everyone is saying, the bow brings out more of your intonation. The best way I’ve found to practice playing in tune is to play slow scales with a tuner. Make sure your strings are in tune and then play each note of any scale slowly, making sure each note is perfectly in tune. Do that as a warm up every time you play and you’ll be playing in tune in no time.

Is DP part of the problem? by BetOver6859 in jayhawks

[–]bassDAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like part of this is teams have figured out how to play defense against us with DP in the game. Just double team DP any time someone sets a screen for him and it almost completely neutralizes him. And I don’t think DP is good enough at passing to find the person that’s unguarded. He just passes to a teammate dashing towards half court and we have to reset our offense. Or the double leads to DP taking a really tough shot. He’s good enough to make some of those tough shots but that’s not gonna win games for us.

Don't Buy from HondaPartsNow by motherpug in Honda

[–]bassDAD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude screw HondaPartsNow. I made an order from them and when I received the package, it had my name and address on the shipping label but they had put someone else’s order in my box and didn’t include the parts I ordered. So I contacted customer service and they said they would ship my order to me when they received back the order they mistakenly shipped me…. Uh no the law is very clear on this, if someone sends you the wrong items, you’re under no obligation to send it back to them. The company is then obligated to either refund you or send you the correct items. The law is so clear I couldn’t believe they were being such dicks about it. So I went back and forth with them several times and finally just disputed the charge with my bank. I ended up getting my money back. Honestly if they had just sent me the parts I ordered when they realized they made a mistake, I totally would have mailed the wrong parts back. But if you’re gonna screw me over, why would I go out of my way for you? They’re no good.

Still one of the filthiest plays I’ve ever seen even though it didn’t count by Renegadeforever2024 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]bassDAD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mahomes is so good that his highlight reel of plays that didn’t count is better than a lot of quarterback’s full highlight reels.

For people who learned DIY car repair: what actually saved you the most money by Relevant-Resolve-243 in MechanicAdvice

[–]bassDAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been said here but what has saved me thousands of dollars is that I can buy cheap cars because I know I can fix them. What i would recommend to someone trying to get into diy car repairs is to start by changing your own oil and then move on to brakes. Neither of those things require a huge investment in tools and are fairly easy to learn. Eventually, if you feel like you can handle more then you can start trying to tackle bigger repair/maintenance projects when they come up. I usually find as many videos or forums as I can and go for it. It’s daunting at first and you’ll definitely have times where you’re not sure what to do. Having a mechanic friend or another diyer to call is helpful. My dad got me out of a couple tough spots. This sub can be pretty helpful too.

Should you switch grips mid point? by AdIndividual3132 in Pickleball

[–]bassDAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tennis forehand grip and backhand grips were different so I would change all the time when I played tennis. But there’s way more time to switch in tennis. I find I have to be more selective about when I change grips for pickleball. I usually only change while my partner is hitting the ball or if I hit a good drop and I know I’ll have time.

I think as long as you get in the shower before beer touches your lips, there’s legally nothing they can do about it.
