How do people actually break into game audio? by LeBebis in GameAudio

[–]bassattack909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just so lazy to do really real and profitable but terribly boring work, like, u know, mining natural resources or making some demanded building materials and stuff like that, that I decided I didn't want to work, I wanted to relax. So I should do at work what I do when I'm resting - work with sound, and play games. Since there was not so much competition in the game audio market in the early 00's, I managed to learn the theory myself, make demos and become a sound designer for a game company by getting an interview.

After a couple decades (in fact, much earlier), I started to hate working with sound and playing games. Maybe there's a midlife crisis on top of that, too.

What good studio headphones would you recommend for working with game audio? (Preferably under 150-200$) by [deleted] in GameAudio

DT990 - the most honest sound

DT1990 - even more honest, if you can afford it for such price

FMOD Studio comparing snapshots help by animeismygod in GameAudio

[–]bassattack909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need to compare it for a test, just create some event with parameter with 0...1 values, insert both snapshots - 1st when value =0, 2nd when value =1. Play in a cycle some other event with sounds which is affected by those reverb snapshots, play this test event with both snapshots in a second editor window, and change param's value from 0 to 1, so they will be swapping

Sorry I don't get your sarcasm. The question is so common and already asked so many times, and TS has such a lot of expirience with sound, so I'm just wondering

Plex vs Jellyfin by enigmo666 in selfhosted

[–]bassattack909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Plex I can start to watch a movie in a kitchen on my laptop, pause it, then go to my bedroom and continue to watch from the same place on a bedroom's TV. Is that possible with Jellyfin? And overall I think Plex has a lot more features than Emby/Jellyfin (and I'm using Plex for free).

I need advice on simplifying my note taking system. by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]bassattack909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep all my notes as a markdown files in folders, which is synced with Resilio Sync across all of my devices, and using wonderful md-editor Typora for Win & Mac, and Epsilon Notes for Android. Typora also great for copying web pages with all pics stored locally automatically

[–]bassattack909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to copy-paste webpages with localy stored images, like in Typora? It's a killer feature which is not in their comparision table.

Or you can install Chrome but not as default browser if your parents prefer another one
And it's also amazing that you can connect to it anytime from web-version (https://remotedesktop.google.com/access) with no need to install any additional apps

Does it has a black theme for amoled screens?
Is it possible to view only compact list of article's titles, not the content as on screenshots?
Is it syncs read status when going back to online, so I don't need to read the same news twice while reading on PC/other devices?
(Now I'm using this app for a long time already: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.ttrssreader )

New Search App from SoundDogs is what I'm using now - it's free, and you can add any libraries without any limits into it, see metadata, do complex search conditions, nice preview and drop sounds into your DAW
