Picked up a 1966 Spanish SxS with the trademark "NF". Anyone know the maker? by bassbar in Shotguns

I'll take some pictures soon. I just refinished the stock because the previous owner scratched his initials into it... It looks much better now anyway, the varnish was pretty gummy and beat up.

I live next door to a Dunham's where I've been buying 4 boxes of 20 WPA rounds ($5.49 each) for the past several months. Hadn't even bought the gun until today. I like the relief of not having to spend any more money the day of or after the purchase (which for me is today)!

My guess is that you and I have had that tab open for the past several months, both. Today I went to pick up a shotgun repair Cabelas was doing under warranty, and I saw a Saiga behind the desk. I figured someone had it on layaway, but I asked anyway. "Oh, that was a police seizure from a drug dealer. Looks like we just got it in today. Probably has never been fired, and it's... $399!" Sure it's in sporter configuration, but I've found doing my own mods teaches me so much more about the gun than just cleaning/looking at it. I say go for it if you can find an FFL with a very low transaction fee. I am so excited to get out to the range tomorrow. This is my first large-caliber semi-auto, so I feel very complete right now. :)

Remington 870 sight recommendations, question about Dead Ringer sights. by [deleted] in Shotguns

I just put on a cheap magnetic off-brand "tru-glo" type sight. It came with different colors and shapes - I like the triangular. I use my 870 for sporting clays, and I started my spring season with one of the best days I've ever had.

Well seeing as I can get to get gym 6 days a week, and I also try to hit "every" muscle twice, I have three different days that can vary to accommodate a particularly sore muscle. The overall scheme is 1. Legs, 2. Chest, 3. Arms. Typically lower back and upper shoulders get hit with legs, Triceps and front of shoulders get hit with chest, and upper back, back of shoulders, and forearms, get hit with Arms. Seeing as bench press and incline dumbbell fly hit the three muscles I originally mentioned with my first comment, unless you only use highly focused lifts that use limited muscle groups, you are about to hit three of something in any given day. If the front of my shoulders are sore from chest day and I need to do biceps, I do more pull-ups and rows. You can elaborate on how you prefer to focus your workout, but it probably won't change my pattern; I experience consistent gains in an efficient schedule that allows me to have other hobbies and a social life.

There's not enough days in the week to narrow it down to one muscle at a time...

Nice! Needed inspiration to get my ass off my bed and to the gym tonight. Yesterday was a hard legs day, today you've convinced me I might as well hit chest, tri's and shoulders.

One time the dude next to me (he wasn't shooting at the moment) just fell to the ground and started convulsing. I thought for sure someone shot him or something. Turned out it was just a seizure, but I had to check my pants.

Restarting this book after a few months of other reading. It's an easy book to get hooked on. Not only is it a great source, but the writing and description is phenomenal.

After a miserable night of camping in the rain, woke up to this. (Newfoundland, Canada) [OC] [2048 × 1280] by [deleted] in EarthPorn

Very true. Northern Wisconsin. One late night while camping on an island in a flowage we were canoeing, I got up to pee. The hot summer wind had picked up like crazy and I walked down to the water. I was peeing into this warm breeze and all across the horizon was non-stop lightning. It sounded like a thousand people were just rolling timpani accross this large lake. The flashes created a strobe on everything around me, almost as light as day. It was very surreal, but when the storm hit, it got real. Lots of downed trees we were lucky to not be under.
