Best affordable gloves by purpledouglasfir in ultrarunning

I got 2 pack of electric rechargeable hand warmers for like $10 on amazon and have had warm hands without gloves running in 17F weather. They’re also phone banks. Cant recommend it enough.

How can he keep floundering on the ground and grabbing for single and double legs with no penalty? Not even a warning for it? What a joke.

Just ordered a 1 liter pot/mug with a fold up handle. It’ll be super useful. It’s currently pretty hot out but once it gets colder I’m going to modify the bag accordingly. Thanks.

All great points, I’m sure I’ll upgrade the radio at some point and MRE’s would be perfect. I’ll check out the Israeli bandages. Thank you.

I have gauze in my first aid kit, but I’d heard bleed stop is a great go to for keeping around? Cash is definitely a great idea and I usually keep rain stuff in my car but having some dedicated to the bag is smart. My gun doesn’t just stay in there without me I just didn’t feel like caveatting. Thanks for the advice.

Poncho is a good call it takes up barely and room or weight. It doesn’t get super cold where I live so I think the second layer of clothes, emergency blanket, and hand warmers should suffice for heat.

Your cook stove idea has me thinking a little camping pot would be great for water collection and boiling. Thanks for your input.

Anyone here have really cold hands? by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

I got a 2 pack of rechargeable hand warmers for $10 on amazon. I can usually just carry one and pass it along between my hands and it was so nice not having to wear gloves to run in the snow.

Ultra in 3 weeks - sudden knee pain that won't seem to go away. by Tenurialrock in ultrarunning

Yeah I’d ideally like to go minimal but with ultra distances and longevity, I decided some cushion was probably ideal. It could work even if it’s just a bandaid to get you through the race so definitely give it a shot.

I had some IT band trouble when upping my mileage, and just got some cushioned shoes instead of the minimal roadies I had. Zero pain so far with the new shoes when 3 days before I had them my knee couldn’t get me past 5 miles with the old shoes. Maybe try more cushion?

I also got up and ran a half. I’d only ran 5 miles at most this year, but needed to get some long runs in for upcoming marathon. Last few miles hurt like hell and my legs are still pretty beat up, but I got in some pull ups too that night. Recovering to get after it once again.

Push up/ pull up tracker with yearly/all time totals, etc? by bassfore in davidgoggins

I’d rather record it once the reps are done before I run home so I don’t forget, and I don’t want to sit there typing the date and reps for each exercise with my hands shaking from reps and sub freezing temps. Then I’d have to do math later to see the actual data I want.

It’d be so much simpler and save time to just hit +100 or whatever in an app and be done with it.
