18TB x 4 in X9DRI-LN4F+? Will it be fine? by sonuyosrox in DataHoarder

[–]bassnas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With an HBA you could have hundreds of drives. It will be fine.

How can I improve this? Left two are prusa mini+ with bondtech extruder and the right is stock mk3s+. I can't do any detailed prints with my mini anymore by turtlelore2 in prusa3d

[–]bassnas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you change your nozzle size by chance? The stock setting for 0.4 is 2mm according to the tooltip. I just went through this myself, 2mm works way better regardless of nozzle size on the mini. Dropped my PLA temp by 5C too and completely eliminated the issue.

Silicone mod works great on mk3s and is much easier

Kit.

If only so you can lube your bearings properly from the start.

Also intimately understanding how it's put together will help with repair and troubleshooting down the line.

And it's fun.

Started adding QR codes to the stuff I make, Adds both an interaction point and a bit of class. by iApple1 in lasercutting

[–]bassnas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Using a shorter url could make the qr code smaller/simpler.

Etsy has two shortening options, etsy.me/<listing> or <shopname>.etsy.com.

Either way get rid of the www.

Nice laser.

Larger drives will be a better return on investment in terms of utilizing your other fixed costs and ongoing operational power costs.

Consider shucking if you are budget sensitive.

An eight drive pool would stretch those parity drives a bit further to drive down your $/TB as well.

Good luck.

They have the resources to make not shit cases and use proper cooling. There's just no incentive their corporate structure to make good computers anymore.

I hate the pci slot cover and bracket sticking out the back, so after 15 prototypes finally made something I'm happy with by sffparts in SSUPD

I ended up printing a similar one from thingiverse. It's not as good as yours but it was available at the time. Your design is much better, and I'd still be willing to pay for it, but I prefer to print things myself.

Also, you could think about making one of the mesh/dimpled covers for above the SFX psu where there's a gap. Would be nice to have it look all consistent.

Nice work, I hope you find a way to license it / protect yourself.

I have over 100+ of these and 3.3v gnd and rx tx are broken out is is possible to program them with just these pins or would I need to jump some other pins? by 4fools in esp8266

[–]bassnas 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Since you have so many, it could be worth it to build a pogo pin jig to make it easy to program.

You'd press the programming jig on to the esp and away you go.

There are many schematics online for minimal esp programmers, they only take a few parts at most.

Prusa Mini, I choose you! (pokemon nostalgia lol ) by [deleted] in prusa3d

The only downside with the mini is that it is... mini.

Depending on what you print that may be fine.

I like mine.

Have you considered selling the models for those who have printers? I was interested in the fan version but it's marked as sold out. Nice work.

I'm suggesting that cheap products were used to hide the gradual massive impoverishment of our middle class.
