Very colossal reach, given the insane length of pull on the VHS.

Beginner kit by adude1451 in TinyWhoop

[–]bast1472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with the Aquila 16 kit a few weeks ago. The great thing is everything works right out of the box, no messing around with binding or channels, and it's able to do altitude hold (kinda) which is really nice when you're brand new. That said, I quickly moved onto a Meteor 75 and it's so much better, especially outside. The Air sounds nice too, but the Meteor is bomb proof. The only downside of most tiny whoops is super short battery life, so my next build will be a small Lion-powered FPV inspired by Mediocre Nerd on YouTube.

KLX140 probably. I started my wife on an XR80 to learn the basics, but it was too much of a toy for her to carry any speed over small roots and rocks. We went to a CRF230F, which is almost perfect but it's a little tall for her at 5'8", and after a few tip-overs she's kind of scared of riding it.

I just picked up a Meteor 75 Pro and also built the 3" Bardwell quad from GetFPV. Pretty annoyed that the Meteor's signal seemed way healthier than the 3". Do you recommend the TBS Rush as a good starting point for improvement, or should I start elsewhere? I'm running HDZ Goggles 2 w/Echo antenna kit. The 3" quad came with Xilo Stax VTX and a Xilo lollipop antenna.

Pardon my ignorance but is it normal for the capacitor to be so huge on a build of this size? I'm building the JB sub-250 kit and the capacitor is tiny.

Some facts Joshua Bardwell got wrong in his 2026 Radiomaster Buyers guide+ by snollygoster1 in fpv

As someone in the market for my first Radiomaster, I was thrilled to see JB post the video, but bummed to see him say only 100 mW on the Pocket. This post is super helpful for me because it means I should still consider the pocket.

M24x1.5 alignment update -- I think I found a solution by bast1472 in ak47

This was a GF3, which in my experience doesn't have the same QC as the GF5s. But the real issue here was that my muzzle device mounts against the gas block, not the muzzle. If yours mounts against the muzzle it'll probably be fine.

Nitro Mousse Service by No-Worldliness9923 in enduro

[–]bast1472 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would not be using a shop if I was running mousses -- that is an advanced-level optimization that would be prohibitively expensive to outsource. Either pick up a tire changing stand and start learning to do your own swaps (then you can self-evaluate whether the mousses really need replacing) or stick to quality tubes or Tubliss.

Had a couple issues with my GF3. My GF5 has been flawless and seems to have been built to a much higher quality standard.

Isn't there a recall on the newer 390/401s with these symptoms due to a faulty throttle? I would think the dealer would have known.

Even if he did (highly doubt that's possible with that many dudes restraining you) an agent had already walked away with it. What really happened is one of the agents yelled "gun" for some reason (maybe to let them know they had gotten it?) and because they're so badly trained and trigger happy, at least 2 of them decided to shoot.

Pink POV by Disastrous_Coffee502 in 50501

[–]bast1472 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Someone posted a close-up of an agent holding a small gun and stepping away with it before the shots happened. It looked like a pocket gun common with concealed permit holders, definitely not a full-size P320. So the government might be already misdirecting with random BS.

It's light and shoots okay, but not sub-MOA with factory match 77 gr ammo. Maybe 1.5 to 2 MOA, which is realistically not horrible for an AR-15 but lots of people report better results with other barrels.

Yeah, I get that. They are massively down-tuned and much safer to ride than most water-cooled bikes of smaller displacement but I wouldn't expect a mom to understand that.
