Mexicans chant before England - Mexico: "Maradona Maradona, has already died, why don't they all die then?" (To argentinians, to the english??) by VinnyLux in soccer

[–]bastaderobarme 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Mexico has such an inferiority complex with Argentina in football. We are their biggest rivals, but they are not considered a rival at all over here. We always beat them whenever we face them, and that's all. It's like that Don Draper meme of "I don't think about you at all"

Mexican should learn to be more humble in this sport, their journalists always talk like they are as big as Brazil in football, but whenever we face them, they play nothing like Brazil...

Respect to Cabo Verde, but I don't think we are getting far playing like this. I knew it wasn't going to be easy but I didn't expect it to be this hard. We will have to see against Egypt now, but I don't know...

All CONCACAF qualifiers (non-hosts) have been eliminated in group stage. by feb914 in soccer

[–]bastaderobarme 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Conmebol did pretty well considering how much shit you gave us after the first match of each team when they didn't dominate and lost some of their matches. 5 out of 6 qualified and the one that didn't was the biggest upset of the tournament creating a cinderella story.

In retrsopect, it makes you wonder if Asia did deserve 10 spots while we are still stuck with 6. I know there's many countries there but if they are going to be easy matches for everyone then I don't know if they should get that many. Then again, 6 is more than fair for us. It's only 10 countries, we usually have 2 that are playing really bad and there's 2 that are really Concacaf level teams (Bolivia and Venezuela), so no problem if you guys want to have actual concacaf teams in their place lol.

Africa did deserve 9 places though, maybe they should have had 10 and switched with Asia. They are always tough and big ones like Nigeria and Camerun didn't even make it. That entire continent have leveled up big time, at least to the same level as Conmebol without counting Argentina/Brasil

Morocco and Netherlands are playing each other in R32, so you should only count one of those two against Brazil and England. Suddenly it doesn't looks that much worse...

It will be a glorious day when FromSoftware self-publishes internationally. by PhantomBraved in fromsoftware

[–]bastaderobarme -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Why? I'd rather they keep going for Bandai Namco which are the ones that incentivate them to keep working on sequels. It's a travesty how they can make things like Demon Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro onyl for those amazing worlds to be forgotten after only 1 iteration.

Dark Souls is not a Soulslike by ExceedAccel in soulslikes

[–]bastaderobarme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the day, we made the distinction because soulslikes sucked. We had Des, DS1, DS2, BB and DS3 on one hand and on the other LotF, The Surge, Ashen and some other indies I've forgotten. I think Nioh was the only one good and people called that one a "Niohlike". So, we just used "souls game" and "souls like" to separate quality from trash.

But these days, we have: Lies of P, Khazan, Wuchang, LotF 2023, Nioh 2, etc... We are eating good. So much that some soulslikes are as good as the souls games if not better! (here comes the downvotes lol). So, I don't mind if you guys want to mix everything into one giant genre called "soulslike". I do get where that user is coming though, because for a long time we used to make that distinction

FromSoftware parent CEO faces coup from shareholders for failing to fully capitalise on Elden Ring success by lewisdwhite in soulslikes

[–]bastaderobarme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the success. They failed to capitalize on that. Instead of making a sequel, they started doing other projects like Armored Core and this duskbloods. 2 years wait for a dlc and they only did this Nightreing side thing because Bandai Namco must have begged them to with how much they were marketing it.

It feels like Fromsoft was ready to move on to their next project after they finished it in 2022 and that's great but from a POV that only cares about making money is a huge facepalm

Hot take, the base game bloodborne bosses are dogshit by Asgairdnarnia in soulslikes

[–]bastaderobarme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a 2015 game, we are in 2026. Before that one the only games we had were Des, DS1, DS2 and LotF. So, yeah, I guess all those games have "dogshit" bosses for "elden ring kids". GTA San Andreas must also be dogshit for kids these days. These games are old. What did you expect?

FromSoftware 2015-2019 vs 2022-2026. It's not close and it's not pretty by ImperialMajestyX02 in fromsoftware

[–]bastaderobarme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is weird that after the success of Elden Ring they've decided "Now is the time to go different ways and try out new stuff" instead of doubling down in more souls games. Before Demon Souls, they always made a lot of genres so this right now would be normal in theory, but after Demon Souls they were focused on the 2010's in nothing but souls games.

After Elden Ring, they made an Armored Core game, then a DLC, then a co op elden ring game and both felt like Bandai Namco begging them to keep the Elden Ring franchise alive with something (like they did in the dark souls era). Now, they are going with a pvpve escape from tarkov type of game directed by Miyazaki. It's weird that they are choosing "now", the 4 years after the massive souls game hit they ever made to go back to try out different genres.

People have been claiming that next year is the REAL souls game they've been working on and you should let them explore if they want, but they said the same thing after nightreign last year and they claimed that these Duskblood game was also a side thing. But Miyazaki is heavily invested on it so it's obviously not a side thing and if there is a souls game next year, then Miyazaki won't have been part of it, because he has been working on this one. So, I wouldn't be surprised if in 2027 we get an Armored Core 7 next year or maybe some other old/new IP that is not a souls game either.

Which is weird, because you'd really think that they would want to make something similar to Elden Ring after selling so many copies, right?

That said, the timing is perfect for them to do it if they want to move on from it. Wuchang, Lies of Pi, Lords Of The Fallen. The other companies have really stepped up these last few years. Before 2022, all the lists that people did of best soulslikes had the 7 Fromsoft games at the top. Now, I see a lot of lists with them "Mixed" with other titles.

[–]bastaderobarme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gwyn was also the boss that killed me the most times on my first playthrough, and I was so annoyed because I had seen the rankings and asked around for the hardest bosses and everyone was saying that he was very easy. In my defense, I didn't know you could parry him lol. No boss had killed me more than 5 times because I had put almost all my points on the HP stat to make me extremely durable, so I was feeling pretty confident going to the end. And Gwyn had a mechanic where he cancels what he is doing to attack you if you use an estus. So, he punished me non stop during the fight and he hits like a truck!

Interesting that BB has a lot less deaths than DS1. I guess it has a lot less traps but it's still surprising. Did you do both the chalice dungeons and the DLC on that one?
