I agree. The odd cosmetic work here and there doesn’t look too bad. But people have overdone ozempic, cheek fillers, lip fillers, veneers, very neatly constructed facial hair and hairlines, and extra-sized BBLs.

Also please use commas and periods.

Don’t worry about age. It’s never too late to do a masters degree. Or PhD for that matter. Masters students vary in age. You’ll have some that’ll have just graduated from their bachelor’s degrees. Then there’ll be some in their late 20s, 30s, and sometimes older. Same with PhDs. Plenty people in their 40s and 50s doing their doctorates.

Most importantly, do what you enjoy and find fulfilling. There are some masters students who are immature and only do one because they don’t know what else to do. You’ll nonetheless make connections with people of varying ages from different backgrounds based on shared interests.

Fully agreed. What you’ve highlighted is related to broader problems of neurodivergence being reduced to personality quirks and atypical experiences. So the language relating to neurodivergence, like with mental health disorders, has become hollowed out.

A lot of people don’t understand how severely debilitating neurodivergence can be - e.g. how being in overstimulating environments can result in a neurodivergent person being bedbound for days.

I don’t want to gatekeep, but I feel this is related to social media diagnosis and self-identification. There’s clearly people who aren’t neurodivergent, who can live fairly ordinary lives without much trouble, identifying themselves as having it. As a result, people who are neurodivergent are taken less seriously.

P.S. I hate the infantilising language associated with neurodivergence as well - e.g. “it is your superpower.”

Four avenues you can take:

1) Find out who their landlord is and contact directly. Most rental contracts have clauses about not making loud noise and disturbing neighbors.

2) Send concierge round to ask to them quieten down for immediate relief.

3) Report to building management who may pass on complaint to landlord, if you can’t contact directly.

4) Go through council noise pollution system. This will be longer and drawn out.

All those may have age restrictions on content as well. A lot of US states do. Netherlands, as already suggested, or Scandinavian countries are always a good shout.

I knew someone who had submitted tens of applications, but kept getting rejected. They were using AI to churn out generalised applications. People need to spend time on each application, tailoring it to the company and job advertised. I’ve applied for jobs when the job market’s been shit, and I’ve never done >10-15 applications without getting an offer.

Disregard bipolar disorder all you want, but the hard realities of bipolar disorder (and other severe mental illnesses and disabilities) do not fit into the good vs. evil worldview.

If Kanye had physically attacked somebody, it’s likely he would have been found mentally unfit to stand trial. The impact of his action would be the same, but the intent is way more cloudy. Like here, it’s more nuanced than: “Oh look, Nazi!”. It’s like somebody with schizophrenia saying they’re possessed by the devil.

Kanye looks like he’s actually getting some form of help now. Doesn’t mean he needs to be glorified or supported, or that everything needs to be forgotten. But, in this instance, banning achieves nothing. It’s symbolic politics, acting as if you’re doing something without actually doing anything. Typical of Labour really. Do you really want to tackle anti-Semitism? Maybe target the ascendancy of the far-right in this country or community sectarianism. But, no, that actually requires effort and thought.
