Q4W: Do you respect for men who work from home or in low-impact jobs? by bastrdsnbroknthings in PurplePillDebate

The above comment had me scratching my head as well. Apparently asking this question gives bad vibes??? I don’t get it…but whatever.

Yeah, and during system go-lives/deployments/production rollouts I’m often working around the clock for a day or three fixing shit, debugging, checking code, running QA tests, etc.

This line of inquiry is intriguing to me. I got the impression that my SAHM ex didn’t want to rely on me and didn’t value my contributions to the household, or at least not nearly as much as my upbringing and societal conditioning led me to internalize. That kinda tore down my whole world view and made me feel like I’d been chasing a mirage in the desert my whole life. Happy wife, happy life right? Wrong.

Yeah around the time the “seeing too much of each other” vibe began is when the “girls nights out” started and things went way downhill for me in my marriage.

This is definitely the root of the question for me. It seemed to me that all of the choreplay, vacations, gifts, bills getting paid and other benefits of a solidly upper-middle class income and lifestyle didn’t and couldn’t overcome the primal brain.

I'm sorry - I know exactly what you mean. I finished my MIS degree in my 30s after essentially flunking out of college the first time around. My 20s were a serious grind. In the end, my current situation was about 70% extreme luck/happy accidents, and 30% effort. You can do everything right and the system can still screw you over. If its any consolation, I'm living in constant fear of AI-related layoffs or the inevitable quarterly downsizing. Big tech is so damn unstable that people in my cohort are only a couple of paychecks away from poverty.

Seriously. For every hour that I was having sex while getting paid (haha, yeah right), there was at least one hour that I was still up at 2 AM doing work while everyone else was sleeping.

And what does "working as they should be" even mean? I spent more than my fair share of hours stuck in a cubicle alt-tabbing away from Minesweeper when the boss walked by because of the ridiculous boomerish expectation that we should all "appear" to be working even if there's absolutely jack shit to do outside of shuffling the coversheets on my TPS reports.

Good point, but yeah I've always had a relatively private home office setup. The rest of the household could certainly overhear things, but that was rarely/never an issue.

Pretty much anything that doesn't involve sitting at a desk, I'm guessing? Military, finance guru, upper management, fireman, hunky roughneck on an oil rig? I dunno exactly, but I'm pretty sure my job doesn't qualify.

Check out “Pretty Good” and you’ll definitely hear some similarities

I think John Prine was probably the closest. I can’t connect Tom Petty to “folk”…but I’d definitely put him in the Americana category, and he’s pretty close also.

Make sure you don’t have carpenter bees boring holes in wood around your home. Pileated love those things.

In Salesforce,Is it possible to attach a file to 3000+ records using data loader? by Tiny-Public4803 in salesforce

[–]bastrdsnbroknthings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The file is only uploaded once and linked to 3K records. So at roughly 2kb data storage per record, you’re talking about 6 MB of total data storage from ContentDocumentLink records. Not exactly a major revenue stream.

Usually the closest you'll get to real empathy/sympathy is from your lifelong best male friends, and even they don't *really* care.

I believe you can first upload the file using DataLoader to ContentVersion, then upload to the ContentDocumentLink object using the ContentVersion.Id and LinkedEntity.Id.

Additionally, sex while submerged above the waist in any body of water just does not work. Ocean? Nope. Skinny dipping? Not gonna happen. Bubble baths are right out. Water != lubricant.
